Can anyone tell me living in England, how medical termination is completed, is it a procedure where you are given general anaesthetic and the baby is removed or do you have to go through labour

I'm sorry this is happening to you.
In my case I had an injection through my stomach to stop the babies heart, then an induction of labour.

11 years ago I was offered this procedure, it was labour

If you are going through this, sorry.

It is labour. For me this wasn't entirely negative, DP and I benefitted from seeing our baby.

ARC UK have a great helpline if you need support of information.

I had a baby die at twenty weeks so went through an induction of sorts to deliver the fetus and then a general anaesthetic for an ERPC. I found it very tough if I'm honest even though everyone was very kind. Flowers so sorry you are going through this.

@Buttons2019 a medical termination is a mini labour.
There is clear information here www.arc-uk.org/for-parents/ending-a-pregnancy
Your post implies that .this may be something you are considering for yourself. If that is so please accept a virtual hug and my condolences. Such a very difficult decision. I hope that you are getting good support and have had the opportunity to consider all possible options. If you want to ask specific things privately I am happy for you to PM me. I have supported many, many women in this situation over years as a specialist midwife www.walkingwithyou.org.uk
