Reduced fetal movements

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and I’ve currently been going to the hospital for a week now with fetal movements, I haven’t felt my baby move myself since Friday now. I’m just wondering if anyone knows why this could be happening. I’m booked in for scan and a appointment with the consultant on the 20th

Just bumping incase anyone can help you. Are you still going in to get checked every day? I no it's hard if the baby seems fine when they check, but don't get complacent about getting checked, you are never a burden on them and it's always worth being over cautious even if everything is fine. Hopefully the consultant will have some answers about why it's happening for you, I remember how stressful I found this myself, take care of yourself OP Flowers

I’d be going back to the hospital TONIGHT and not leave until given a Doppler scan to check placenta funcional. Have you had a growth scan recently??
My friend has recently lost her baby after some days of lack of movement (and doctors and midwives reassuring her), please take this seriously.

onemoremummy · 18/02/2019 20:11

Not feeling baby move for 4 days is not normal!!!! Please kick up a fuss until they take you seriously.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 18/02/2019 20:12

Yes I second the pp. Go in anytime with reduced movements. Never bee embarrassed. The advice is always to get checked. Good luck

Valdy · 18/02/2019 20:21

Definitely not normal to not feel baby move for that long, I would be back to the hospital asap. Also, I know you haven't mentioned it but feel like people need to know, not feeling them later on in pregnancy because they're 'too big in such a small space' is a complete myth!

Rebecca987 · 18/02/2019 20:29

He’s moving fine on the monitor I just can’t feel him. I’ve had one growth scan and apparently he’s growing fine. I feel like every time I go up they just can’t be bothered

Go in whenever you need to and don't feel bad about it. You need to be reassured that baby is ok. If you haven't been since Friday don't wait til Wednesday, go anytime now.

onemoremummy · 18/02/2019 20:47

Did you use to feel him more?

Rebecca987 · 18/02/2019 21:43

I’ve been up to the hospital everyday since Wednesday and yes he was in a routine

I think a Doppler will check the blood flow to the placenta.

onemoremummy · 18/02/2019 22:03

Have you seen a consultant or just the midwives?

RandomMess · 18/02/2019 22:05

Have you started taking any medication?

Propertywoes · 18/02/2019 22:07

Is there another hospital nearby you could go to?

Rebecca987 · 18/02/2019 22:18

Got a consultant appointment on Wednesday and no only one hospital near me to go to

I’ve just started taking tablets yesterday for my iron as it’s low

Where is your placenta? A Doppler scan will check blood flow from the placenta and cord to the baby. They’ll likely do a growth scan too.

Just keep going back, I’d rather be seen as a pain in the arse than the mum whose baby was stillborn. And I’m sorry if that’s harsh.

DD was induced due to lack of fetal movements, she’s now 3 and fine. My placenta was anterior and just blocked so many movements. Currently pregnant with DC2 and have a posterior placenta this time and it’s a huge difference. So it’s all likely fine but you just never know.

Rebecca987 · 18/02/2019 22:26

My placenta is at the back

The key here is that there been a change in patterns, you used to feel your baby move and you don’t anymore. I know you don’t want to feel like you’re overreacting but I really would be heading to hospital again today and demanding to speak to a consultant. Just keen repeating the same thing over and over to them “I haven’t felt the baby move in 5 days” until someone listens. If I seem overinvested in this it’s because I am telling you what I didn’t tell my friend whose baby was stillborn. Just get seen again.

HeyCarrieAnneWhatsYourGame · 19/02/2019 06:50

I had blood flow issues to and from the placenta with DD2 and she was induced as a result. Made o odds to my feeling her move. Go to the hospital now and kick up a fuss.

RandomMess · 19/02/2019 07:15

You need to go back and ask why?

After feeling lots of. Movements now I can't feel any, why is this happening when it shouldn't be. Why are you happy to not do more when you can't find a reason for it?

Rebecca987 · 19/02/2019 23:32

Been back up today and had my lv and Doppler scan and everything was fine. Got to go back tomorrow for monitoring and consult appointment
