Harmony v Vision v NHS tests?

Hello

To cut a long story short I'm 9 weeks pregnant following ivf (many cycles!!)

Anyway we would like the screening tests and think we are going to pay privately for one of the harmony tests, however I'm struggling to find many places that offer the harmony tests near me (Derbyshire).

I've seen somewhere offer a test called Vision but I've never heard of this one before. Is it as reliable as harmony? Also it's £500!!' Does this sound about right?

Have you asked your midwife, because where I am you can get a NIPT done through the hospital and it's cheaper than going directly to the private places. Still £300 but the one I had is usually £400. Blood taken on the Monday results by the Friday. Would def recommend over the combined test, that just left us incredibly anxious

My midwife never mentioned that I could pay for the tests. Maybe they don't offer that where I am?
I'm trying to find more places local to me but they are so expensive

I wanted to do Vision, but they wouldn’t do it near me, so had harmony. Vision is slightly more accurate for t18 and t13 and has lower rates of failure (where they have to redo the blood test) because they use a different method. I also thought that the harmony would take ages, because it’s American, but they now have a lab in London, so just as quick to get the results. Had harmony done at 10 weeks without trouble. I would do either again.

vision

I used www.ultrasound-direct.com who usually offer both vision and harmony, but my local clinic only used harmony (although if you book in advance, you can contact vision to ask for a kit to be sent to the clinic).

I had harmony done, which was £400, it’s the one offered at the clinic near me. I’m not aware of vision but I think you can only get NIPT done via the NHS in a few selected London hospitals - I’ve certainly not heard of it being offered up here in Scotland, it would be combined test (bloods and by cal thickness) followed by amino if results of that were worrying.

Thanks for the advice.

Do you know if I'm measuring behind (say at 10 weeks I measure 9+5) if they can still do the test? Or would I need to call back?

They scan you first and if you measure less than 10 weeks they’ll ask you to come back at no extra cost.

I have the NIPT done (Harmony) by Ultra Sound Direct. It was about £400, and the peace of mind was worth it. I believe that you have to be 10+ weeks though, so you'd be best waiting until then.
NHS doesn't offer it here, although I'm sure that I read something about it becoming available soon if you've had a high result from their combined test. Personally we couldn't wait and went private as soon as we could.
