Choroid Plexus Cyst on Anatomy Scan

Hi all. I'm 28 weeks pregnant. At my 20 week scan I was told my baby had a 7mm cyst on the brain. I was told not to worry, they are quite common but are soft markers for trisomy 18 and 21 so they have to be mentioned. Nothing else on scan of concern. My first trimester screen came back low risk. My gp said not to worry so I didn't.

Saw midwife at 26 weeks. She raised the issue of the cyst. She said that they had arranged my next mw appt to be with a doctor at the hospital to discuss the cyst. I was a bit concerned that they felt this was necessary but she said it was to put my mind at ease.

28 weeks I had the appt with the doctor. I went in, she weighed and checked urine, did blood pressure, asked the usual questions and then listened to babys heart and said all looked fine. This is exactly the proceas when I see the midwives so basically she did nothing different to what the midwives do. I asked her, aren't we going to talk about this cyst? She then said that they were quite common, there were no other markers and not to worry. The exact same as my GP! So what was the point of this appt? I must have looked worried because she asked if I wanted her to 'double check' with the consultant. I said yes please, she took my anatomy scan results out of the room then came back and said he was out. She said she would show him the results later and call me if there was anything to worry about. She didn't call.

I just feel like this hasn't resolved anything and now I'm feeling anxious. The doctor didn't have any new information, no new scans and didn't seem confident in her own opinion, what with asking the consultant. How do I know she even remembered to ask him?

DH has pointed out that at this stage, further investigations wouldn't give us any decisions to make - at this stage in pregnancy it is what it is. I'm not saying I would have terminated the pregnancy if I had discovered a problem earlier, but I know the option would have been presented to us.

Does anyone have experience of similar?? Do you think I should be worried?

In Australia by the way so process might be different.

With my second DD a soft marker for downs was visible at the 20 week scan. It wasn't the same as you're but was echogenic (white spot) on the baby's heart. I was told not to worry as there would need to be 2/3 additional markets to be significant in increasing the risk for T21/18.
I was 39 at the time and was told to forget about it and enjoy my pregnancy.
