CMV primary infection - just found out at 31 weeks

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or has any words of reassurance. I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my second child and have had a pretty terrible pregnancy all round. We found out when I was 24 weeks pregnant that baby has duodenal atresia (abnormality in the bowel causing a blockage) which means I have polyhydramnios and am at risk of premature labour (as well as being majorly uncomfortable). We had an amnio at this point which was normal.
A few weeks ago I started to get very itchy so had my bloods checked which showed deranged lfts and a diagnosis was made of obstetric cholestasis. They did a liver screen though and 2 weeks later I've just been told that I've had a primary cmv infection this pregnancy. At the moment we don't know when I had the infection but I think it's likely to have been in the last 6 weeks.
The fetal medicine consultant isn't keen to do an amnio to look for fetal infection as with the polyhydramnios it will be risky for inducing labour which will worsen the problem from the duodenal atresia point of view. So we may have no way of knowing whether there is fetal infection or not.
There's such a wide spectrum of severity of consequences from cmv. Reading stories online is terrifying me. I don't know whether I can face the risk of neurological disability. But at the same time a termination at this stage for medical reasons will be heart breaking as well.
The more I think about it the less sure I become about how I want to proceed. I feel like I'm living in a nightmare Sad
