How irrational am I being

I don't know anymore and I am stressing quite a bit.

I had my dating scan at 13 weeks exactly. The nuchal measurement was 2.4. I haven't had any blood results yet (5 working days later). I've been told a lot that I have a low risk pregnancy so far since I'm under 30, don't smoke and not overweight. But haven't been told the 1 in __ risk.

I feel a bit in limbo because I want a definitive answer and I know the screening isn't a definitive answer. So I keep googling to put my mind at rest about how small the chances are of downs or genetic abnormalities but it's not put to rest at all. Even the NHS website keeps saying that the screening can be wrong.

I just don't know what to think anymore. :( I have heard about the harmony test and I like the certainty but I just don't know if I would be completely overdramatic to get it & if I'm just being completely ridiculous.

Can someone give me some perspective?

Well I never got a '1 in something' risk with either of mine, I just got a letter in the post to say I was low risk, which I believe meant less than a 1:250 risk. That was enough for me.
The harmony test is non invasive so if it will put your mind at rest there's no harm in getting it, although you will have to pay.

You're not overreacting at all. I would wait and get the screening results first and if you come back as "low risk" I wouldn't worry but if you come back as "high risk" maybe consider getting the NIPT then? Like Harmony or we had Iona. Cost is £300. They are 99.7% accurate so much more so than the NHS screening which is 85% accurate. X

Thanks both.

Jessybear90 that's what I'm wondering, should I wait if I get a high risk or low risk, or do I just do it anyway if the NHS screening isn't that super accurate?

My close friend has a nuchal of 3.9 and had the harmony, everything turned out well and she is due a healthy boy in September so try not to despair Flowers
