Please help me decide whether to have Harmony test

I'm 37 and 9 weeks pregnant with my second child. When I was pregnant with DD, I was 34 and was given a risk of around 1/160 for Downs at the NT scan, mainly due to absent nasal bone and high HCG. We decided to have a CVS and all was well, but the experience was really stressful. I'm dreading going through the process again and I'm aware the odds may be worse because I'm older. (I don't know whether high HCG is likely to recur but I wouldn't be surprised if the nasal bone is an issue again as both DD and I have small noses!). My anxiety is not being helped by the fact that my GP referred me to the wrong hospital, which means I still don't have a date for booking in or 12 week scan. I'm considering going for the Harmony package at the Foetal Medicine Centre, but £400 is a lot to us just at the moment. Also, I think my DH thinks I'm being over anxious, though he's said he's happy with whatever I want to do. I keep going back and forth - can anyone sway me?

Really choccy? What health board is that?

I'm in Medway. Apparently they're part of a pilot trying to get it rolled out everywhere for free. Medway might be a bit of a dump and voted the worst hospital in the country (not the maternity bit though) but at least we get this! Just had my text telling me my results were 1:10,000 so obviously happy about that.

Fantastic news, I'm really pleased for you! Such a relief, I know! I think it should be available on nhs to save so many people taking unnecessary risks with amnios. Well you'll be celebrating tonight! Grin

I'm going to the same place as you on Monday kaz. Scan was fine but nuchal was 2.6 which is quite high so given I'm 42 I'm pretty much guaranteed a high risk result. I won't get results with blood combined for a couple of weeks do just pressing ahead now....

44!!!! (I know!!) with first baby (12+1) MC 4 year ago at 8 weeks.
Scan last Tuesday and everything great NT 1.7mm (within range.) I'm considered by midwife and doctor, an unusual case ( eg I survive on a diet of heathy foods, not pop, pasties and crisps)
My BMI, weight, diet, non smoking etc. is excellent.
However I got the dreaded phone call yesterday to say my Maternal Serum Screening results were 1:92 for T21 and my age related risk for T21 prior to screening is 1:30. I've emailed ARC to clarify what the devil this means.
I have to go for further blood tests next week, although I'm not sure what these are called as I couldn't take in all the information over the phone (my heart was in my mouth and my brain is made of candy floss). Would this be the so called 'Nifty tests' as I thought you had to pay for these? I'm also planning on having and paying for the Harmony tests if these next set of test send me into a even higher state of anxiousness. I would rather go through an internal inspection/OFSTED/redundancy and interview all of which I have encountered in the last 2 months than what I am currently going through. Any advice welcome. Lots of positive vibes to all you anxious lot.
