If my first child was 1:150 is my second destined to be higher?

Had my first child aged 37. DD was diagnosed 1:150 'low' risk but only just. I didn't have any further tests, and dd was/is fine.

Now I am 9 weeks with 2nd, but am 41. Am i destined to have even worse numbers with this one, due to my age? Or could my 'bloods' be better this time round?

I think I just want to prepare myself really. Thanks for any help!

I was 31 with DD1 had a test result of 350:1. Had dd2 2 years later so thought test would be higher, result was 7000:1.

Not necessarily - although your basic background risk will be higher (because that is based on mother's age and gestation of the baby) - these results are then combined with all the others to give a specific risk for this baby.

Thanks both, that's reassuring. I assumed it would naturally be higher. Thanks again.
