Harmony test - where is the evidence

I'm thinking about having the harmony test at the FMC in London. I have been reading through other threads with interest. Most people seem to have had a really great experience and I understand that the test is 99% accurate.

However, is there any evidence base to support this statistic? How 'experimental' is this screening test?

At UCH, they told me they would be adopting it within the next six months. So not especially experimental any more I don't think - though not diagnostic like CVS/amnio

Englishroses, FMC will provide you with academic research to support the Harmony Test if you enquire about it. I had the Harmony Test there (absolutely fantastic experience after losing my first baby who had DS and a heart defect) and I highly recommended it. They also do combined screening like the NHS do to ensure the result looks accurate i.e. good NT measurement, good bloods PLUS negative harmony test result.

My 20 week scan showed no problems (1st baby's 20wk scan showed heart defect which alerted us to potential DS) and I feel confident that everything is normal with this baby. I also had the NHS NT screening and got good odds with that as well, just to be thorough!
