hi

I know this is not new but wondered if anyone going through the same thing right now at this time. Had nuchal test and odds of down's is 1/20. Was a shock as previous pregnancy I had 1/3000 and cannot believe it's so high! I am 40 right now, have 2 children and feel v lucky to have them. But I am worried about the difficult choice I may have to make if the amnio comes back positive for down. Am nearly 14 weeks and go back to have a chat and scan I guess for soft markers on 6 feb. Not sure if they do the amnio there and then.

I was a bit speechless when they rang but have been told to call if I have q's. All I know is that age is against me and my nuchal was 2.9 mm (upper range of normal). I haven't asked about bloods but something has knocked me up the odds scale!!!

Anyone going through this now? Advice on q's to ask is welcome!

Thanks! Keeping everything crossed for you too. I know how interminable the wait is.

Tazmo - how did your appointment go? Did you have the amino? Have been keeping everything crossed for you

Hi
Thanks - yes had amnio. It seemed to go ok. Felt the consultant was in a rush but he is good. I didn't get individual test results and I had to ask him tom check the soft markers. He couldn't see anything obvious. But it wasn't sore at all.in fact, it's the result I am nervous of. They gave me up to 7 working days : o (

They said likely to get initial results before end of week - tap pity tap!

Glad it all went OK. 7 days seems a long wait (we got ours the next day), but hopefully it won't take that long. The waiting is the hardest bit, but keeping everything crossed for you.

Thanks! I know - hope it comes sooner. Will let you know!

Well keeping everything crossed for you. Hopefully you will get the results sooner than 7 days, we were told 72 hours and got them within 48 hours. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Yes 7 working days is agreement with lab but consultant said he hoped I would hear by Fri. Still not as quick as you though. 24 hours down.....

48 hours now - no results yet!
Could be even this time next week - hope not!
Had bit of period pain like cramps - what did you get told re timescale on m- c risk? I was told mostly in first 72 hours but could happen up tp 2 weeks after. Tho after 2 weeks, if all ok, should not happen after that. Thrrrrum thrrrreum.

That's great news! You must be so relieved. Like you I was told m/c risk highest for 72 hours and that it then continues to reduce over the 3 following weeks.

The further i get away from the amnio the better. So tired as woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Should sleep easier tonight!!
