I'm getting so much pain, like contractions. Feeling really upset too. Thought it would be easier than this. Anyone else been through it

Do you know you definitely don't want to see the foetus? I think it's a good idea to be really sure about this as you may see something. It is possible and you may also feel compelled to look unless you force yourself not to. This is why I mean you need to be sure sure before it happens. I had a medical evacuation of my miscarried baby at 14-16 weeks. The pain is great but I doubt it will get any worse than you are experiencing now. Soothing thoughts your way. Emotionally it is very painful no matter how right the decision is. Allow yourself to grieve.

learningtofly · 22/06/2011 21:31

I totally understand those sad feelings, be kind to yourself

Bohica · 22/06/2011 21:33

You've had some wonderful advice but I just wanted to pop on & offer my support.

Hot water bottle & a cup of tea, glad your DH is with you.

UrsulaBuffay · 22/06/2011 21:34

God love you, I'm cyber-here for you too. All good advice been given.

Northernlurker · 22/06/2011 21:35

No problem OP - handholding is what we're here for. Smile

funnynoises · 22/06/2011 21:48

You poor thing. I have had one of these and found it very painful indeed. I think the pain is harder to bear because of the stress and sadness.

Northernlurker puts it so well. It is a sad thing, and natural and necessary to be sad. I felt sad for a long while, and then was OK, without regrets.

I hope the pain eases soon and that you feel some much needed relief when it is over.

Let us know how it's going Nora. Hope you are ok.

manicmummyoftwo · 22/06/2011 22:19

Sending lots of hugs and hope you feel better physically and emotionally soon

Northernlurker you sound lovely; sure you've really helped. Will you be my surrogate mum please?

Fifis25StottieCakes · 22/06/2011 22:20

Hi Nora

I miscarried at 6,8 and 17 weeks.
I had very heavy bleeding and cramps at 8 weeks but i didnt actually see anything other than clotting. I did at 16 weeks but i was admitted to hospital.

Take the codine and have a hot bath. Try and get to bed and have a lie down. Have you got anyone with you for support.

NoraJune · 22/06/2011 22:35

Still in a lot of pain. The bleeding is getting heavier and have started passing small clots. Just sitting in the bathroom with my hot water bottle and feeling very sorry for myself.

:( sorry. I hope the pain is over for you soon.

Bohica · 22/06/2011 22:40

The worst will be over soon

Make sure you take your pain relief every 4 hours so you build up a reserve.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 22/06/2011 22:45

Nora, just wanted to offer some late night hand holding. Hope the pain will end soon and definitely keep up the painkillers tonight x

Northernlurker · 22/06/2011 22:54

Still handholding Nora.

manicmummy - if you need a surrogate mum I'll do my best Smile Thanks for asking. I do have three dds though - maybe you should talk to them first Grin

hester · 22/06/2011 22:59

I'm still here, Nora.

NoraJune · 22/06/2011 23:30

I think it's gone Sad

Sorry if tmi but I was sat on the loo and I felt it come out of me.

Couldn't bare to look at it. I could even bring myself to flush the loo, dh had to do it.

The pain has subsided.

Can't believe what has just happened. It was my choice I know but it is horrendous. I thought I'd be relieved but I'm devastated Sad

I'm going to take a sleeping tablet and try and sleep.

Thanks all for being here, you are angels xx
