Hi All, I'm aged 31 and nearly 3 months pregnant, exciting news! Unfortunately I've grown apart from many of my friends who I have known for years but we have been drifting for a long time.. I'm in and out of different jobs due to my creative nature I find it really hard to stick at one office job which bores me senseless and crushes spirit.. just sharing this as am wondering if any others are in the same boat? I don't want to isolate myself too much but guess I am looking for a new awesome tribe to share this journey with.. any advice on getting out there would be great x

Hi, Charlotte. Sorry to hear you've been feeling low. I'm 24 y/o and 29 weeks pregnant. I posted a thread just the other day about my friends' lack of interest in and engagement with my pregnancy (none have even seen me since I've been pregnant, and I'm well past the halfway mark - the only people who have seen 'pregnant me' are the people on my degree and family). Was pretty much told that I shouldn't expect them to care as it's me who's pregnant and not them, and that its unrealistic/unreasonable to expect them to relate to pregnancy if they've never been pregnant. I found this quite a harsh way of looking at it. Personally, I feel that if your friend (someone you love and care about), is pregnant, you should take a natural interest in their pregnancy because you're happy for them - whether you can 'relate' to the experience or not!

Anyway, it's made pregnancy feel like quite a lovely experience for me. I'm definitely looking for my own mama tribe, too...

... Also, congratulations on your pregnancy! ✨ a pregnancy is really such a blessing! 💗
In terms of 'getting out there', I've joined a few local mama/mama-to-be groups on Facebook (natural mama/mama-to-be groups, to be specific, as I'm more into 'natural' parenting styles), and I'm quite looking forward to the antenatal groups! The local mama/mama-to-be groups seem to host regular meet ups, which should be fun - maybe see if you can find anything like that in your area?
