bet the 4yr old loved it though!

StealthPolarBear · 10/07/2010 16:43

lol! that's the fall back present for elderly relatives surely
(though i love them...what does that say about me??)

muggglewump · 10/07/2010 16:45

Claim it for yourself and send him back for another present.
Everyone's a winner

booyhoo · 10/07/2010 16:47

he bought them knowing you would reject it and send him to get something else leaving the choccies for himself. i like his style

nickelbabe · 10/07/2010 16:47

booyhoo · 10/07/2010 17:03

I saw a tray of ferrero rocher given as a 3rd birthday present ;last week

I think there was sopme crossculturall misinterpretation though

miso · 10/07/2010 18:35

I remember when a small box of Maltesers was a reasonably acceptable child birthday present.

is he planning on delivering them James Bond style, like in the old old ads?

Oblomov · 10/07/2010 19:33

maybe the kid in mind is as all kids, these days. 'wants for nothing'. dh wanted an build yourself model aeroplane. wanted it as of april. waited til christmas to get it.
Name me a kid these days that this happens to.
Maybe this kid that dh was thinking of has everything, would not be unusual, give your dh a break !!

I bought DD some a box of thornton's chocolates as a treat for when DH was away and we watched a movie. We obviously shared them, but she was thrilled and felt like it was a very special big girl thing, so your DH wasn't entirely unreasonable!
