DS been ill with raging temperature and sickness since Thursday lunchtime.

DH working away and so I have been stuck with 4 chaosurchins on my own since gawd knows forever (seems like).

By Sunday I was desperate for fresh fruit and veg so, having to go out anyway to drop DD1 off for a party, I decided to go to local petrol station which has brilliant co-operative attached.

So all 4 of us went and DS needed a poo (bloody loud voice ) so went to toilet. Did the deed then he went to wash his hands - one of those spray soaps - went all over his face and into his mouth. Now he's vocal at the best of times but when ill and oversensitive you can hear the screams in Norfolk!

Went to checkout with BallisticBoy and asked to speak to manager - Adam came over and ignored the screaming child, asked if he could help. I asked him to consider moving the soap dispenser as it had gone all over DS's face causing eruption and I thought it would become an issue if it went into someone's eyesand therefore prompt action could prevent this.

He said he'd go and have a look and waltzed back off to mark down reduced items in the fridge.

AndThatWasIt.

What do you think?

I think.... it was an accident, and it was a bit trivial to complain about... sorry.

Chil1234 · 04/07/2010 21:25

I think because you asked politely and used the word 'consider' (?) he didn't treat it as a complaint, more a friendly suggestion that he could take up or ignore as he saw fit. And he ignored it....

A sorry would have been pleasant.

Then feel free to ignore my polite suggestion.

Was the soap dispenser in an unusual location? where would you suggest moving it to? I'm not sure what you think the manager would/could do!?

chaostrulyreigns · 04/07/2010 21:34

Yep - on a wall away from the sink about the height of the hand drier.

I suppose if it's by the sink a 4yo would have to stand slightly further back and be away from the area where the spray comes out.

Be glad they had a toilet a little bit of soap won't hurt it's probably meant for adult use i.e position on the wall. I've often been offered the staff toilets when in a shop with children that can't wait and they could have said "Sorry no toilets" it's not the end of the world!

The manager probably wanted rid of a screaming loud child and to move away as quickly as poss, tbh. Sorry! Can't have been much fun for you though. Was probably the final straw for you, but think you're being a tad over sensitive.

chaostrulyreigns · 04/07/2010 22:16

Erm - because I had no milk, bread, paracetamol or fresh fruit and had no other option.

I wasn't leaving them in car.

All the food is wrapped up and he didn't(and I wouldn't have let him) touch anything.
