It is as hot as the hobs of hell at the moment and there are a couple of cold tins in the fridge. I have sole charge of dd (9.2) who is sleeping with me anyway while dh is away. AIBU to think it isn't such a bad thing to crack one open now?
I'll just go and have a ciggy and check back for the verdict.

OK, so I'm home. Fat lot of use you were Alouiseg answering after I'd already gone! Anyway, I agree everywhere gets messy after 1pm, and even 11.30 is pretty dicey in the high street. (not sure whether it's our age or just a general observation on our lovely hometown

I knew my friends would not be up to clubbing, even though they suggested it! Two of them were driving and two are doing the race for life tomorrow, so didn't want to be too late. Now I know why I usually stick to drunken dinner parties.

Anyway, they didn't like the look of Qube and the fact that you had to pay 3 quid to get in, when they just wanted a quiet nightcap, so we went to Roberto's which was DEAD. Then came home. I feel almost as sober as before I went out.

Sorry for hijack BTW.

Alouiseg · 04/07/2010 08:43

Oh dear. Fwiw I've never had a good drinkie night out in our hometown. Dinner fine, parties fine.......boozing in bars never fine. Remind me to tell you about the full on argument I had with "the crack whore" in Hub one evening. It was legendary!

FellatioNelson · 04/07/2010 11:24

You are starting to scare me! Can I risk more than a dog walk with you or will you get me into a fight?!

We did go out for dinner first which was nice, so it wasn't a toal wash-out and TBH I wsn't that bothered anyway. I'd rather not go to nightclubs if I can help it, but I'd sort of got myself psyched up for a late one.

Alouiseg · 04/07/2010 13:16

Don't be afraid, when I tell you who she is you'll realise it's all par for the course. She's very volatile, unstable, druggy etc. Etc.

FellatioNelson · 04/07/2010 15:23

Oh so it's not some random loony then - someone I might know?!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 04/07/2010 16:01

OK, the magic beer hour has arrived - hooray, just going to ask my DD to get me a nice chilled one out of the freezer

Oh yes, we have a school in common with her, although her dcs have been at all of the big 3 local schools plus a foreign one plus the eldest is now at a boarding school on a river in the next county up.

EccentricaGallumbits · 04/07/2010 16:04

Magic beer hour didn't arrive for me. I was dragged out by my lovely understanding friends and force fed red wine. I feel much better now.

Can't drink tonight. Got to drive at about 11.30 pm. On a Sunday! I should be tucked up, in my hairnet and bedjacket by then. Bloody teenagers, ruining my life by having one of their own.

Alouiseg That's going to drive me nuts now. Dog walk Tuesday?
