DH has been a stay at home day for the last year now. DS is 19 months. I'm a breadwinning mum.

I often wonder, would the house be as much a mess if it was the other way round?

DS1 is 11 and DS2 is 2....
atm I can see in my living room....

rocking horse
horse play set
football
2x thomas train sets
3 toy horses
horse puzzle
a random shoe
DS1's t-shirt
a towel
a toy drill
a shoe box (hours of fun for DS2)
and another box of toys.

But the place is clean. IMO there is a difference between clean and lived in and dirty.

Untidy I can cope with DP cannot.

On the rare occassion he has the DS's while i go out during the day he thinks that sending them to play in the hall/courtyard/bedroom etc while he clears it all away means it is easy to do on a daily basis.

I am waiting for the day he actually realises that constantly following the DC around picking up after them spoils the enjoyment of watching them play.

Sunny - I disagree totally! The "job" of the person staying at home is to look after children while other partner is out of house. WHen other partner returns then any work needing done in evening is joint and shared!

I suppose I just like doing things my way. My husband always offers to clean/do stuff when he gets in but I love doing it. I love looking at the place when I have been tidying it and I love doing it even if I have been to work but I think I am a bit strange! My husband calls me Monica from friends
