i left her in the creche for 15 mins for a taster and she didnt even realise i'd gone!

i spent the 15 mins in the cafe having a brew, wondering if she was ok and hoping the nursery nurses would come and get me if she got upset...

shes 15 months old and its the first time ive left her!

i'm trying to convince myself that its because ive helped her be confident and trust that mama is always there... still feels like she couldnt care less where i am.... i have stupid pregnancy hormones as well

Aww, YANBU to be upset, but I bet it'd have been more upsetting if she'd cried her little heart out for the whole 15 mins.

You're right, it just means she's confident and independent, which is a good thing

Please don't worry - surely it's great that your DD is so happy. The very first time I picked up my DS from his childminder he cried because he didn't want to come home !!! I am honestly pleased that I have raised an independent child - he is 9 now and always goes to camp, sleepovers, etc very happily. He is always confident about trying anything 'new' - eg: holiday activities, sports clubs etc.

"mummy who"?

aww it's good really, she must have been so interested in it all and been happy. And you're right about how you'll have helped her confidence.

potplant · 02/07/2010 12:30

YABU but its understandable, I did the same.

When my DTs did their first taster at nursery I sat in the car park staring at the baby room window for the whole 2 hours (and phoned up once as well )

15 mins - she barely had time to miss you!

DS had a taster session at the nursery he will attend next month and tbh, he didn't even notice I was in another part of the building - he just got playing with all the other children.

It's a positive thing, and at 15 mo, that's brill that your DD is happy to just get on with stuff without you being there. It's nice to hear these kinds of stories.

It's a good thing!!!

She must feel really comfortable and secure. the thought that you won't be there simply hasn't entered her mind.

It means you've done a good job so far, well done
