Today i had to take my hamster to the vets to be put down as she was paralysed after doing some silly acrobats climbing up the top of her cage.

I actually cried in the vets and i felt quite silly, the receptionist was very nice gave me a tissue and told me to take my time before walking outside as i was there last customer of the day.

My DH thinks i was silly but my mum and the receptionist understood.

What do you recon?

I don't think it's silly to cry over the death of a pet! What's the point of keeping animals if you don't get emotionally attached to them? Unless you're a scientist or farmer, that is.

Sorry about your Hamster, you are not being unreasonable at all. x

Nope not silly atall. I howled when our cats died and had hysterics in the vets one of when our guinea pigs died.

It's natural to become attached to your pets and natural to be upset when they die.

Ah, my sister cried when her goldfish was put down.

You loved your hamster, you are allowed to be sad.
