AIBU to let 3yo DS fall asleep to natal hypnotherapy cd?

Now I'm 32 weeks it's time to listen regularly to the NH disc.

I've just then listened to it and took the opportunity to have DS lay down with some warm milk and hey presto I'm now awake and he is still asleep.

He gave up his lunchtime sleep about Christmas time so I feel a bit sneaky about having tricked him into it so to speak.

Is it being U to make a habit of this over the next ten weeks do you think?

TIA

YANBU I would do this if my 3 year old would sit down long enough! although I would probably regret it come his normal bed bedtime when he is wide awake

Haha - this reminds me of that episode of Friends where Chandler's hypnotherapy CD starts turning him into a 'strong confident woman'.

DH used to fall asleep to my hypnobirthing CD every night in the run up to DS being born - he loved it, never got past about 3 minutes before he started snoring.

Oh, and YANBU

zoo - Bought it online - cheap. Google natal hypnotherapy. Otherwise ha ha, yeah it may be good longterm.

It took five or ten minutes of him faffing around next to me but as usual I fell asleep too and bingo, I woke up at the end and he didn't.

Back in the day of lunchtime sleeps he would sleep from 12 - 2 or 3 and still go down again at 7 so I'll just make sure I listen to the disc at 12ish. Wow I feel like I've drugged him or something (really I haven't!).
Recommended to all pregnant ladies needing a rest for an hour or two from little ones!

On second thoughts, maybe not recommended for children given the outcome of this thread.

It was DH who loved it and never got past 3 minutes before snoring, not DS sadly - but DS definitely recognised it when he was born and it would chill him out which was helpful. But didn't send him to sleep. Sorry if I got your hopes up there!

Bicnod - thanks, yeah I realised I thought you said DS but on the bright side my DH has trouble falling asleep due to back issues so it may just come in handy.

I'll do one day with DS and one day with DH! And hope HE doesn't go fall asleep in the labour ward!
