To not give a crap about breastfeeding?

The threads are EVERYWHERE. My children are practically elderly. I just don't care, alright?

AIBU?

That's why mumsnet is divided into topics. And you have the option of hiding any of those topics that don't interest you, or aren't relevant to you at any particular time.

If the BF threads are creeping into other topics, maybe MNHQ needs to clarify the topic system so people know where to post stuff.

PortiaNovmerriment · 25/06/2010 21:35

IF? IF?

It is currently to be found in Chat, AIBU and even Telly Addicts. I don't want to hide them all.

Of course you're not unreasonable to not care about it.

Just as I could not give one fucking shit about pets.

And I don't read anything about teenagers. I don't want to get worried too soon.

There are many topics I really have no interest in.

slushy06 · 25/06/2010 21:36

You are NBU to not care when I click on a topic there are usually only one or two threads I find interesting. But some people really do need help and support to bf so just ignore the topics.

On a a-side you must care to have posted a thread about it .

wastingaway · 25/06/2010 21:37

Chat and Telly addicts? Linky!

bibbitybobbityhat · 25/06/2010 21:37

It is annoying to see threads about breastfeeding in AIBU. The ops are just attention-seekers. And if they are not, they could have done a bit of research and seen that there was a breast/bottle feeding topic and that every possible discussion about breastfeeding has been done hundreds of times before in Mumsnet's 10 year history.

ManicMother7777 · 25/06/2010 21:38

The predictability of bf threads is quite entertaining though, you must admit.

slushy06 · 25/06/2010 21:39

So don't click on the thread in chat or AIBU why do you need to hide it just ignore it if it is that boring or infuriating the fact that it has 300 posts says it is interesting to a lot of people.

PortiaNovmerriment · 25/06/2010 21:40

weeeeeeeellll, that much is true, Manic...

I breastfed my babies with varying degrees of success - I had no support whatsoever and just had to muddle through.

I would have been so grateful for the breastfeeding advice and support on here at that time.

Though it's something that should come naturally, it really doesn't for lots of women and the associated problems that arise can cause great distress to a new mum.

Although my children are adults now (in fact DD1 is a breast feeding counsellor), I still read these threads with interest and have actually thought at times - 'ah, that's where I went wrong'.

If you don't like reading about something - don't read it.

Undutchable · 25/06/2010 21:41

I am breastfeeding and sick of it. My child is nearly one and won't take a bottle. I certainly don't want to fecking talk about it... (though I just have, obviously).

Actually, I care passionately about what I feed my children and have done since they were born.

Anyone elses children?

None of my business, feed them liquidised nuggets of stoat bollocks for all I care.

comewhinewithme · 25/06/2010 21:47

Also sick of bf and sometimes wonder why I bloody started in the first place I had five happy healthy dc ff I now have a clingy up all night one year old who just wants boob and no solid food.

I just want my boobs and sanity back.

am also sick of everytime a soap has a new baby there are various threads over BF.

PortiaNovmerriment · 25/06/2010 21:48

comewhinewithme · 25/06/2010 21:49

PortiaNovmerriment · 25/06/2010 21:49

I am feeling rambunctious tonight, Lulumaam. must be the stoat bollock.

IamBatman · 25/06/2010 21:52

YANBU, I found breastfeeding very interesting when I was doing it but that interest vanished almost instantly once I stopped, very wierd.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/06/2010 21:56

I hope that's an organic free range stoat bollock from Waitrose, Portia.

Oh the self-correction thing is infuriating, isn't it? It always corrects 'reading' to 'Reading'. Now there is a place I don't care about either.

My stoat bollock has added aspartame, I'm afraid.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/06/2010 22:08

Ah, so that's why they call them sweetbreads.

curryfreak · 25/06/2010 22:10

It's the most tedious topic on any forum, anywhere, anytime ever!!!
