Lots of people seemed to want a thread about lifts that go up and down, the sort that some people call 'elevators'.

I believe they were invented by an American (correct me, you know you want to) so technically the American name should be the 'correct' one.

So, which way do you face in a lift?

If people need to get off before you, how do you exit the lift while indicating "I need to get back on to go to floor 10, I only got off at floor 3 to make way for someone, please don't let the door shut before I get in."?

I dont like lifts but in the Ridings shopping centre in Wakefield it is set out completely wrong for Wheelchair users and Pushchairs. So have no choice but to use the lifts.

I love buses where I live. When the park and ride stops at the hospital every single person says thank you to the driver. It's like a school trip.

Er, that's where it terminates you see. It's not a spontaneous outburst for no apparent reason, everyone gets off at that point.
