To be annoyed at everyone buggering off early to watch the football

AIBU to be annoyed that because (a) I'm not English and (b) couldn't give a monkeys about a bunch of overpaid prima-donnas kicking a ball about a pitch that I should be made to do over 2 extra hours of work whilst everyone else buggers off to the pub to watch the game?

Apparently they will be "making the time up later" but I have a feeling that there's more chance of me becoming a supermodel than that happening.

Should I just pretend I'm going to watch it anyway even though I've been quite vocal about point (b) above?!

Yes, actually. Memories are made of things like watching the World Cup on a sunny afternoon. Semi literate? Who says? Oh yes, you. Must be right then.

Some people actually like watching the WC, hard for some to grasp. Doesn't make us wrong. I accept you don't like it, works both ways.

And we won! Be happy!

It's not all about the football SWC, it's lots of people having something in common and enjoying that instead of slagging off the weather/state of the country/how shit life can be etc etc.

Has knowing other people are having a good time en masse robbed you of a sense of humour? Why not be glad other people are happy watching it?
