She broke her collarbone 3 weeks ago, and is not supposed to do P.E til she gets the all clear from the hospital, which will hopefully be this thurday.

So, AIBU, even if she seems capable of doing physical activities, surely doctors orders should be adhered to?

she is 6 btw.

"Well yes, she is running around at lunchtime etc, but you cant stop her doing that'"

Yes you can. It is bonkers to say that she can't do PE on doctors Orders but she can charge round at playtime as if nothing had happened. What's the difference?

Oh, and never, ever take on face valuse what a 6 year olf has told you happens at school."We were practicing for THREE HOURS!!!!!!" should be met with a sceptical raised eyebrow and a bit of forensic questioning about how much tiome was spent sitting on the grass while other classes had their turn.

seeker, but she is in charge herself when running around playground, she can stop when she likes without asking permission, at p.e you have a teacher there giving orders as such, and she is a shy girl, and wont tell teachers if she is in pain, she does'nt feel fully recovered yet, for example she would like to ride her bike, but does'nt feel ready. And she tells me they went out after morning break, stopped for lunch, and came back in just before afternoon break, I make that 3 hours, and she says she done I think 4 different races, 3-4 times, including climbing through hoops etc.

This was all confirmed to me by the teacher this morning anyway, besides the point is, she should not have done p.e, regardless of the time limit or activity.

Op yanbu,

when you leave your children in their care you expect them to be looked after. it is neglect on their part. maybe they think they are doctors. they should not be ignoring the medical advice regardless of what she does at playtime.

and saying that if others say they have things in place for them to do ie. reading, then surely the teachers should also make sure she isnt over doing things.

i would complain about it and also complain about the rudeness, why does it seem that some, yes some teachers act as if they cant be bothered to be there. and before anyone jumps on me like they have done with the op. i have seen this cant be bothered attitude on numerous times, maybe the schools should listen to the parents a bit more.
