I could be wrong but to me whatever race, nationality you are if you Live in England then should you should support your country simple as that really. All this sily talk about taxi companies advertising "100% English" is racist what a load of crap.

When in Rome and all that!

By the way I am not racist just pointing out that if you want to live in England then support your country

I used to live abroad and I supported England first and my host country second. Fair enough no? Anything else is just making a negative comment about the country you're living in.

I've seen South African flags on a car by me, was I offended 'no'!

I live in England and pay taxes here. I don't support England in the World cup because

a) I don't particularly like football
b) I'm not English and my home country is at the World Cup (go Kiwis)
c) I have family ties to other countries in the World Cup too.
d) DH can do the England supporting in our household.

We were watching the Germany/Australia game. DD asked me "Who do we want to win?". "Well" I said to her, "you have Australian cousins, so why don't you support Australia?" "I have German cousins too" she pointed out.

Oh the joys of an international family.

I am foreign and support my home country when they are playing. When they are not playing and Englad are, I support England. If they were to play England, I would support my country, but not so ardently that there would be an atmosphere in the house!

Actually, come to think of it, I am heartily pro as many people as possible supporting as many different countries as possible and flying their flags prominently.

So far the World Cup is doing wonders for DS's flag-recognition skills, and he wouldn't get that if everyone supported England.
