To expect my 17 year old daughter to remove her hood while inside the house

She is having a bad hair day and so is walking round with the hood up on her hoody looking like someone from the getto

Just keep asking her if it is raining. She will soon get annoyed (if she can hear anything with her hood up).
Or simply get all the members of your family hoodies and insist that everyone wears their hood up inside the house. As teenagers are unable to follow simple rules (as it's not fair), she will rebel by not wearing hers In case she looks anything like her parents).Simple.

YABU and controlling
let her be

If she seems annoyed when the hood is up maybe it's because she can see you scowling at her?

hairytriangle · 20/06/2010 20:16

YABU. Really not worth the argument/hassle. She's 17 ffs, leave her alone, she's not hurting anyone!

If you have now thought about it you can make yourself feel better in that if they rebel in small ways they are less likely to go for the big things. If you control dress, food etc it gives them no option except to simmer quietly and then explode in a huge rebellion-at least that is my theory.
