ok so I know I ABU but AIBU to not bother giving it back?

It must fly over the fence at about 100mph every bloody 5 mins and yesterday it missed my 4 month old laying in the shade by inches. I screamed "I burning that bloody football" and throw it in the shed.

His mum has just asked me if I have found his ball yet. "Ball? What ball is that then??" I said.

What annoyed me most was when she said "you have baby boys your soon have lots of this sort of thing". ummmmmmm no as I won't buy them a hard leather one and secondly they can play football at the park, not in a narrow garden.

I did consider putting it in a bag with a note saying please be really careful but I would rather burn it.

What do you think?

KurriKurri I may have felt like it but I didn't swear at him.

gorionine thank-you. I just feel like our garden is 100ft, but I can't use the top half as one neighbour smokes, the bottom half you get knocked out by footballs!

Why does yor neighbour smoke in your garden?

KurriKurri · 17/06/2010 14:52

Apologies TTBMP - I misread your post, and thought you had, sorry

FranSanDisco · 17/06/2010 14:53

Can I just try to make you feel better. My neighbour gobbed phlegm onto my patio last week over a 6 ft high fence . It just missed the patio furniture. He also lights bonfires on the patio which blow smoke into my house and the embers singe my garden umbrella. This is the same neighbour with the cricket balls. Our gardens are over 120 foot in length so no excuse for the bonfire being so close. I hope he sets himself alight one of these days!!

Hullygully · 17/06/2010 14:56

I wouldn't let my dc kick a ball into the neighbour's garden 85 times a day. I'd feel embarrassed.

Please change your name to Mary from marry. It is disturbing.

tryingtobemarrypoppins2 · 17/06/2010 15:06

But she was merry Hullygully.....sorry to kill the whiter than white image!!

FranSanDisco what a nutter! You poor thing. I assume he isn't 7?!

Hullygully · 17/06/2010 15:34

DrNortherner · 17/06/2010 15:40

And I'd love to see your ds aged 7 trying to play footie with a plaggie crappo ball cause his Mother swore never to let him have a leather one.....

cat64

Didn't swear
Didn't lie
Haven't stolen anything
Haven't taken away their childhood fun away

Parents could give them a more suitable ball or gets off their bums and take them to the park. Children would ask poliety to get their ball, instead of just coming to get it.

YABU and your neighbour is right. Seven year old boys look enormous and downright malicious when you have a docile 4 month old baby. When you have a seven year old boy, you'll realise that they are merely thoughtless and exuberant.

usualsuspect · 17/06/2010 16:24

yabu .throw it back ..we had a neighbour who moaned about footballs ..everyone in the close thought he was a right miserable sod

OrmRenewed · 17/06/2010 16:27

Give it back. Your boy might not have a leather football but things will go flying over the fence - and even plastic footballs can hurt and break plants. I could accept your attitude a bit more if you had no children - but you do.

tryingtobemarrypoppins2 · 17/06/2010 16:28

Don't you think though as it keeps happening all afternoon/evening and we are concerned about how childrens safety we have the right to be a bit pissed off!
