Lacy leggings with a pair of Primark 'boy shorts'(ie knickers) over the top and a lacy crop top showing way too much boob and tummy? It looked like some kind of Bondage Superman

Its a church group run by the bunch of sweetest old ladies - alot of them were very

No.4 am loving my S/He state, I've come over all unisex

prettyfly1 · 11/06/2010 21:58

dammit - I thought my shorts looked nice . Off to monsoon with me Gin

SusanCalvin · 11/06/2010 21:59

"You wouldn't hear a load of men discussing who was wearing what."

You might if one of them was wearing lace leggings.

scottishmummy · 11/06/2010 22:01

swatch at a snatch or arse of course guy would talk.but would probably be more complimentary than violet

vicbar · 11/06/2010 22:05

Why when you make a comment on what someone is wearing does is mean your saying they are a bad parent ? The OP doesnt make any mention of bad parenting just IMO bad fashion choices. If you dont care dont why comment with Im better than you thoughts because I dont bitch ?
As for the men talking about something useful I know plenty of men who are far more critical than me or other women of what someone is wearing especially if its not appriote (SP) or flattering.

Maylee · 11/06/2010 22:10

The OP asked whether she is being unreasonable "to think that lacy leggings are not great attire for toddler group"

Which begs the question - why wouldn't it be and who the hell cares?

vicbar · 11/06/2010 22:23

But if she thought they werent whats really the problem. It just annoys me when people say you very judgemental when they are being just as judgemental by saying she obviously thinks this means this woman is a bad parent - when the OP hasnt said this at all. TBH I dont think lace leggings are ever a good look but its the holier than though comments people put up sometimes.

Im having a bad day just ignore me.

adriennemole · 11/06/2010 22:28

Agree, who cares. Not my cup of tea but wouldn't judge someone for it. I'm imagining she was a young mum and probably looked fab ( in a standing out from the crowd kind of way) I went through a phase of wearing biker boots with tea dresses ( sometimes with over knee socks ) at my local church group last winter some mums were a bit but doesn't make me a bad mum does it?

scottishmummy · 11/06/2010 22:28

well Vi is hardly effusing about the mums is she.cant be construed as a feel the love vibe

and the face that the lacy arsed mum dare parade her tooshie in front of sweetest ole ladies

hey who knows maybe the sweet ole ladies had dildo knickers on

FairyMum · 11/06/2010 22:33

LOL and LOL and LOL at Sweet ole ladies wearing dildo knickers

ginhag · 11/06/2010 22:36

Well.... lacy leggings are DEFINITELY not great attire for toddlers. 'Specially not boys.

HTH

scottishmummy · 11/06/2010 22:38

lacy leggings not so good on dads either

IveStillGotIt · 11/06/2010 22:52

Well ShadeofViolet, I think YABVU, as who made you the fashion police!!!
If this mum wants to wear lacy leggings with hot-pants, then good on her!!!
Are you jealous that you couldn't carry off this look? (I dont know what you look like, maybe you could, better than this woman!!!)
I stand out like a sore thumb at DS school gates, most of the other mums are alot older than me, wear 'posh' looking clothes, and I stroll up wearing branded trackies and low cut vest tops with my ff's hanging out!(think Janet from Two Pints of Lagar and a Packet of Crisps!!!).
I think you are being abit judgemental, however I will admit, if I was going to a 'churchy type group' then I would probebly tone my look down abit!!!

DaydreamDolly · 11/06/2010 22:57

Judgy pant snobby women like you are precisely why I dislike toddler groups. Were you watching your child whilst you were passing judgement on all those around you?
FFS get a hobby.

ShadeofViolet · 11/06/2010 23:00

Yes thankyou Daydream - I was stopping my DS from having a massive meltdown because the room wasnt laid out as it usually is, I spent most of the session consolling him and stopping him from biting me, himself or anyone else.

The Lacy Legging judging was a distraction

OP posts:
DaydreamDolly · 11/06/2010 23:10

We're all mothers with our own set of issues etc, why judge someone for their appearance, seems really mean and pointless when you obviously have enough on your plate as it is. Perhaps she looked at you and empathised with the trouble you were trying to avert with your ds. And you were just looking at her thinking 'tramp'. Sad.

VuvuzelaPlenticlew · 11/06/2010 23:48

Methinks if this thread had gone into Style and Beauty it would have stayed more light-hearted.

YAB a wee bit U but I do not think it is the crime of the century to state your aversion to the lace legging/hotpant combo. Not as if you took the poor woman's photo and posted it here for all to see.

I'm really just posting to try out my new name, hence total lack of insight offered

DogTheBountyHunter · 11/06/2010 23:58

There is no way that anybody wouldn't judge- you are kidding yourselves to think otherwise! Not the woman's parenting, true, but for dressing like a clubber on Snog Marry Avoid- definitely. I just don't believe anybody who claims they wouldn't at least raise an eyebrow inwardly.

DetectivePotato · 12/06/2010 00:05

Thank you Dog exactly what I was thinking.

scottishmummy · 12/06/2010 00:06

cant say im arsed about who wears what.better that the clichéd middle class boden and converse uniform

lace leggings and shorts!maaaaaaaaaan that woman has got it goin on

DogTheBountyHunter · 12/06/2010 00:09

You are smokin' tonight, scottishmummy

scottishmummy · 12/06/2010 00:13

DogTheBountyHunter · 12/06/2010 00:19
