To think that they are not porn stars in the making?

Just had a phone call from the mother of dd's best friend. It seems that yesterday they examined each others fanjos. Mother is concerned because her dd said she saw all the way into my dd's and she didn't sleep last night because of it. I have never noticed anything odd about my dd's fan and think this mother is over reacting. She told me as an aside that 'that is how adult film stars start you know, checking out the vagina's of others'. I will be the first to hold my hand up and say dd is not an angel, but, this is ridiculous isn't it? Bit more info, the OM is American and her dd is adopted and black (not that the latter has any bearing). OM is very highly strung and takes any comment as a criticism which makes the relationship dd has with her friend very fraught for me.

Well, I spoke to DD and she told me it was part of a game where you had to run along the tunnels, squat down and someone poked you up the bum. sounds like fun? A variant was running over the tunnels, through the end one and the flourish there was pulling your shorts and knickers down slightly. Doesn't sound anywhere near what OM said. I am going to be ignoring any further phone calls from her. Two weeks and school is over.

My dd is nine and this seems a bit odd all round to me. The other mother sounds slightly unhinged, but I'm not sure that the game sounds very appropriate, I'd be telling my dd that she shouldn't play games with pocking of bottoms or pulling down of knickers (but I'd be really surprised if she was still playing this sort of game now). Still in I'm guessing that in a couple of weeks they won't be seeing each other so much and the game will probably have lost it's interest by the time they go back in September.

I'm sorry but "she saw all the way into my dd's and she didn't sleep last night because of it" should get quote of the week!

backtotalkaboutthis · 12/06/2010 06:59

Bit strange for nine. Aren't they a bit old for that? What a strange story.

"when we lived in Thailand she told me her friends was rainbow coloured. "

As in red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue?

Can any Thai Mumsnetters confirm this please? I had no idea...

Longtalljosie · 12/06/2010 08:13

I'm reading "Raising Happy Children" at the moment, and it covers handling young children and sexuality, including masturbation... perhaps you should refer her to that? If she's that hung up she won't accept any suggestion from you to chill out...

Nine does seem too old for 'show me yours' kind of game.

Right, the other mum has just phoned. It seems it wasn't my dd's fanjo she looked all the way up, it was a pornography magazine that she found in her brother's bedroom. I had spoken again to DD about the game, the shorts and pants down was rolling the waistband down so the waist of your knickers is visible. The sticking your finger up a bum was a gentle prod. I did say I thought it was a daft game.
I am so pleased that it is all over. OM was mortified that her DS had got hold of bare naked ladies to look at. Still, 9 more days of school and our nightmare ends.

Ewwwwww. I remember seeing a fair few ponographic magazines when I was her age - mainly found in the park of all places. It was quite alarming at the time, but more in an "OMG! What is she doing?! And Why is she doing that?!?" kind of way.

I wonder where her DS got it from - it wasn't nicked from his dad's stash was it?

I doubt if she's rung the school, her son is in quite a lot of trouble already so that would be another strike against him. Porn is widely available where we live (despite prostitution and sex shops being illegal). DD often comments when we are in a newsagent about the open legged pictures on display at child eye level. Mainly she thinks it's horrid, but sometimes it prompts questions.
Anyway, that period in our lives is over and we look forward to the 7.5 days she's got left at school.
