that's it really
I have had a dreadful time recently

to cut a long story short we have moved temporarily (see my earlier thread we're in a holiday let) thanks Fimbo I've been meaning to thankyou on the original thread but I am so busy dealing with all the shit life is throwing at me I just havn't got round to it
after this we will move again
hopefully
as long as the lying deceitful letting agent (who is holding my deposit and carrying on marketing the property) sorts themselves out

anyway i have been fretting over my parking permit we legimately have stayed in the same parking zone but the builders have finally left the crappy place we moved out of (after over 1 month) and someone else has moved in so i am worried that when they apply for their permit the council will decide i am not entitled to one and ticket me!!

so as per their website I e-mailed them to let them know and have received a demand to prove i own the vehicle (it's the same one) and can prove i live at the flat

well i can't i don't own the property so i can get no solicitors letter etc and since it's a rental I have no bills. i can't prove the vehicle is registered here since it isn't!!
the link they have sent me to their website doesn't work and they havn't answered any of the questions i asked them about how wives visiting the council offices can apply for a parking permit

here's what the website says

If you move address but stay within the same zone, please write to xxxxx or email xxx with your new address, so that we can ensure that renewal documents are sent to the correct place. You will be required to supply proof of residence and vehicle ownership at your new address when you renew your permit.

so am i being unreasonable to want to cry
i simply can't provide all that stuff for here and their website led me to believe that i wouldn't have to

Have they got a single contact phone number? If you can get the right person on the phone it might help.

oh my permit runs out at the end of this month anyway

i was told i had to provide proof of ownership of car (the same one) and proof of residence at the property solicitors letter, landline etcetc so that my renewal papers could be sent to the right address

i doubt it we live in one of the lowest council tax areas in the cuntry parking fines are one of their biggest money spinners
i'm actually too afraid to speak to them in case they cancel the permit

at least now they are waiting for a letter (and round here that can take weeks)

it's scary how a little bit of shit makes you too terrified to deal with people because more will eventually follow

HAve you got a tenancy agreement or any receipt for monies paid for the rent?

HAve you changed your car insurance documents to show the new address? They may accept that.

TheArmadillo · 01/06/2010 14:53

If none of that can you get landlord to write letter stating you are living in the property as of

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 01/06/2010 15:01

Do I understand that you are staying in a Holiday Let in the short term? If so then you probably don't qualify for a permit I'd either go and see them and ask them what you should do in this situation, or, if it's a short term thing, but a load of visitors vouchers.

hello days, sorry your are stressed about this. i know that parking issues can be a read headache and probably the very last thing you need to add to your stress right now.

the council need to establish that you are a resident and legitimately qualify for a permit. council tax records may be accessed to determine this. even if you are living in a holiday let, you may still qualify as long as you can show that it is your permanent/main residence. the permit issued to you, is it a temporary permit?

do you have a recipt fot the deposit that you paid to the letting agent? and other docs to show the exact address of the payment you made? if so, i suggest you write to the loc auth permits manager, briefly outlining your circs. they will have the discretion to extend the deadline for you to provide the requested documents.

many councils will have a grace period(often 14 days) which they will allow to pass before issuing a penalty charge notice. that should buy you some extra time. the new residents of the property you mentioned would not necessarily affect your existing permit - unless there is a restriction on the number of permits issued per household.

do you receive any letters at your current address?

Can you tell the DVLA where the car is being kept now and ask them for updated documents? Maybe talk to someone there and ask for help.
