Ok we all know that family dont always buy us what we want but have been waiting for weeks for a present from a family member. They have just told me it will be at least another 2 months as its an ebook reader and hasnt been released yet, It has been put back. It was my birthday 2 weeks ago.

Anyway i think its like a computer thing that has books on it. From what i can gather they are not that small and i dont know about others that read books but i like the book part and think its crap to have it on a computer. To me its about looking at covers trying to figure out what i might like and then reading it in the bath, getting the pages all wet and creased.

Am i on my own or does anyone like these?? Genuine question i dont really know much about them??

Yes yes yes! I'm a kindle owner, and an avid reader, and I haven't read an old fashioned book for ages now. They feel so lovely to hold, and I love the fact that I have hundreds of books at my fingertips! Many many many free ones, and also the potential to buy (usually cheaper than the price of a paperback) whatever you fancy at the click of a button.

It really is nothing like reading from a computer screen. Whoever invented e-ink should be knighted!

Also, if you're dead set on reading in the bath, you can buy waterproof cases for them. Or I've heard that some people put them in a zip-lock plastic bag.

They don't hurt your eyes as there is no backlight so it is just like reading from a page in a book. I have mine in a case with a light which keeps it safe in my handbag and allows me to read in poor light conditions.
As for the cost of the books, I buy most of mine from eBay on disc which I then load into my reader library on my PC. I can get a disk with a whole collection of books from one author or disks with mixed authors for approx £4.99 including postage....bargain!!!
