This is a bit of an outside punt and you don't say how long you have been ttc, but is there any possibility you could have endometriosis? I just wondered because it is associated with short cycles. Endo causes infertility in 30-40% of sufferers but is very treatable.

Have been there more times than I'd care to mention. It's shite. I did get pregnant in the end, when I least expected it, so keep going. Am planning to buy some piss sticks now cos DC2 isn't appearing. I have had 2 AF in 5 weeks recently so F knows what that's all about. Good luck.

OP We went on holiday last august and has sex everyday at least once a day for the whole 10 days. We had a very very 'active' couple of months over the whole summer but I still failed to get pregnant. However in november we had sex about 3 times and I got pregnant - go figure.

Pee stick are great but you can get a bit hung up on peeing on sticks, I know its hard we tried for almost 3 years with dd 2yrs and I am now 7 months pregnant with number 2 trust me all the heart ache and waiting and wanting in worth it in the end. I promise

OPK's worked for me. We had been ttc for 18 months, first month I used OPKs I got pregnant, and we only had sex twice that month (due to very complicated month) so was totally worth it. I had been using natural family planning methods to look for signs, but OPKs are so much easier

We had sex loads, all the time, in loads of positions and I was taking EPO, checking for EWCM, doing everything.

Then we went on holiday with my parents. I left all the vitamins, OPKs etc at home and we had quiet, furtive sex twice.

And bingo.

I was older & had been on the pill a few years so I thought it would take a while.

I feel for you. I remember being a few days late many years ago in a cold caravan in Devon. When my period came I cried. Our dd took 2 years to conceive in the end. Only about 3 months for ds and that was after a miscarriage.

I hear you. Last month, the rusty fucker arrived two days early while I was on holiday in the States and I was left secretly crying in my friend's bathroom.

been trying for 3 years, had 5 mcs.

3 over last 18 months.

last time i got pregnant, we did it once, 2 days after the end of my period.

YANBU. Try the ClearBlue fertility monitor, I have a few friends who swear it helped them. I used one for a couple of months after 6 months of trying, and it worked second go. We didn't use it to tell us when to get it on as such as we were trying every other day as per recommendations, but more to reassure me about my cycle. I had been on the pill for years and didn't really get what my body was doing. They're pricey, but I bought one on eBay and got the sticks on Amazon where they weren't too bad.

YANBU...as someone who had several MCs and is quite control freak about things I did all this stuff, knew when I was fertile, had sex at all the right times..de nada. Took a new job, had some drinks to celebrate, had sex during my AF (new acronym to me so ) and bingo - pregnant. Similar experience next time. So FWIW I think when I did everything right I didnt conceive, and when I just had jolly nice, slightly drunken, spontaneous sex I did. I also think we all conceive and MC far more frequently than we realise and a lot of late periods are actually very early MCs.

Didn't think I'd admit this on the Internet (but then I am anonymous I guess...) but what worked for us was a vibrator!

DH thought the whole sex thing was becoming a bit predictable as I was so concerned with getting pregnant - he wasn't even convinced at this point that he really wanted a baby. He went out and bought a rabbit, we had a fab night and a couple of weeks later I found out I was pregnant.

Worth a try?
