to loathe smokers at bus shelters

Ive lost count of the amount of times Ive had to stand 10 metres away from 2 particular scummers that smoke at the bus stop every night.

AIBU to wish these people would stop blackening the lungs of my developing fetus and just step away from me and the other non smokers?

TFL give them out so that women who are not really obviously pregnant can wear them on teh tube in the hope that it will prompt people into giving their seats up.

Lots of people wear them in teh rush hour.

It works for me! (Except at said bus stop with smokey ladies)

MrsK: do you mean you hate smoking or smokers? If the first YANBU, if the latter then YABU.

MrKiplingismypimp · 26/05/2010 14:03

I dont mind smokers. Everyone has the right to smoke if they so choose.

Its smoking in my face when I have made the choice not to, that I dont like.

The badges are really good, I think. I've seen lots of pg ladies being offered seats on the tube because of them.

I hate smoke too, it would annoy me. I think you need to get there early one day and do some guerilla signage for the bus stop.

I was in London at the weekend, on the tube for the first time and a women came on the stop after I'd got on, stared at me and did one of those fake coughs and pointed to her badge. I had to laugh at loud, I am quite obviously preggers too and also had a knee support on. She must have thought pregnancy was an excuse to be rude.
Any way OP, YANBU! Up here all bus stops have no smoking signs.

MrKiplingismypimp · 26/05/2010 14:05

Love it!

Does your badge actually work?! Was in London other week, am very obviously preg, nearly 8 months, no one even noticed me. Don't think they were being rude, just so wrapped up in their books/papers. I don't think they'd have noticed if i'd been decapitated and was carrying my head under my arm, to be honest. bloody southerners

Pootles2010 · 26/05/2010 14:10

Sorry meant on the tube!

MrKiplingismypimp · 26/05/2010 14:13

Ive worn it every day for the last 2 weeks and had 5 seats given up for me.

So whats that, 20 tube rides, 5 seats.... thinks

It works 1 out of 4 times?

i am not that old to remember smokey planes - I think you could smoke on a plane until the late 80s. It was blardy awful.
