Skips prettily about the vast empty potentiality of the empty Hall and awaits.

That's it Jamie, I think the school can talk, threaten and cajole until it's blue in the face, but you can't force people to be nice.

But I will talk to them.

You know who we need? we need pag - with her wisdom, and her Girl and her teenagers and stuff.
And her leotards and spangles, obviously

TinyApeInBigPants · 25/05/2010 17:46

Yes do talk to the school, your poor DD. Because she refuses to be pulled into it all she is suffering as a result

The thing is as her mum all you want to do is take away the pain and make it all better and it's the lack of control (over the behaviour of the other girls) that makes it so hard to bear.

I dread DD facing this at school. Finish off the sweets and pour a large glass of wine whilst you mull over what to say to the school

Umami · 25/05/2010 18:26

I dreamed about Pag last night. DH and I were staying at her house. She made us some kind of fried cheese sandwiches. Also she had two dogs, both of which were wearing purple costumes of a sort.

Umami · 25/05/2010 18:27

Sorry. I didn't say anything helpful there, but I have no experience (except in spoon warming) and so nothing to offer. Just love.

Hullygully · 25/05/2010 18:28

Dd ok today - no dramas. So making the most of it, but will talk to teachers still.

OP posts:
Jamieandhismagictorch · 25/05/2010 18:38

Umami - am worried about your spoon-warming exploits. Perhaps time to talk to Frank?

Umami · 25/05/2010 19:18

Hully made me do it.

Actually, methinks 'twas Pagwaaaaaaaatch and her bejewelled spoons at Monaco's Got Talent who first introduced me to the elicit pleasures of spoon-warming.

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a green Frangipani boat,
They took a bunny, and a joke that was funny,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the threads above,
And sang to a didgeridoo,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy are you!'

PrincessFiorimonde · 25/05/2010 20:26

Hully, is this why DD wants to resign from school play? So sorry she's having such a hard time.

OldMac - v good!

Saw Pag earlier on Andy Ripley thread (in Chat), if you want to steal her.

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 08:25

V nice, OldMac, altho I do feel the ending veered a little too closely to the original. Possibly you are feeling the lack of a good crinoline and corset tightened about your torso? A good squeezing works wonders.

Hi Princess, dd has managed to demote herself to a crowd person, so she's happier about that at least. She hung out with a different crowd yesterday, so am crossing everything..Placation and commiseration is an expensive business, last night I agreed to invite one of her friends on holiday so that cheered her up. Bleedin kids. When I were a yoof we just had to get on wi' it and suffer horribly in twisted painful miserable silence.

Have no experience of the modern young girl, but do remember the sheer intensity at which everything is experienced at that age, so my sympathies.

I do remember, though, aged about 13, saying to my mother I was depressed, and basically being told to Pull Myself Together. Not sure that this bracing approach was that effective - albeit, as you say, considerably cheaper. The good old days, eh?

frangipan · 26/05/2010 09:38

Am seriously considering changing my MN name having read this thread

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 09:42

But you need an ending dear gel, you must choose. Life is fraught and full of such difficult choices.

Princess - I do wish schools would teach EI, would be much more use than most of the stuff they learn..

OP posts:
OldMacEIEIO · 26/05/2010 10:25

Pussy said to the Owl, 'You committed a foul!
How uncharming you look in bling!
O let us be wed! I want you in bed:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the crinoline grows
And there in Dorset was a gal in a corset
With a ring on each of her toes, her toes,
Her toes,
Her toes,
With a ring on each of her toes.

pagwatch · 26/05/2010 10:35

What ho

Ah poor Miss Hully. And Big Hully. nothing worsethan having to watch our children deal with this complicated emotional stuff. You are bearing it well Hullygirl. The radio brings no reports of girls admitted to hospital to have lacrosse sticks removed.

I have no wisdom. They are so open, one layer of emotional skin less than they need and not enough time to grow it. You can only love them and try and let them know that you are there, they are wonderful and they will get through it. Which they do.And surviving one big emotional drama is the waythey learnthat they will survive the next. You can only aim for sanguine which rarely sits well when hormones are also a factor. But the agonies...

I intend to lock DD in her room a lot. I thinkthat will help

pagwatch · 26/05/2010 10:37

DS1 is doing AS's at the moment. I have asked him to fashion some fresh buttocks for the Captain using alabaster. they will be heavy but will look quite grand.
he is keen to start. An enterprise which will gain little attention at a boys school I am sure.

How are things Jamie - how goes the boy?

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 10:48

Well done OldMac, much more the ticket. Let it flow, gel, let it flow.

Hello luvverly Paggy. Why do gels freindships have to be based on exclusion and spite? Eh? Eh?

No matter, we shall sally and endure.

Alabaster buttocks sound most alluring. Would they be smooth and cool to the touch?

OP posts:
pagwatch · 26/05/2010 10:52

dunno. I have the pre teen girl thing on the horizon. Boys seem a blast now although I know that wasn't true.

I wish I knew where the envy/spite/competition things starts. because it sure as hell continues.

We should start a group. Girls Be Nice FFS !or summat. Girls love Each Other would perhaps make us an unfortunate google.

Yes , cool round buttocks, firm to the touch. Like mine.

Hullygully · 26/05/2010 10:57

Girls Love Each Other

Fab

he he he titter ye not.

DS is v happy at the mo because he is going to play the sexy Danny in Grease (there are three so more people get a part). The mind boggles. He says it's because he is a flirt and a sex god...Gosh they make you proud.

OP posts:
pagwatch · 26/05/2010 11:08
