tuppence? Fortunately I've managed to avoid seeing that somehow.

'Tuppence'? Prices have gone up then, my nan used to say (if you were going out with a boy for the evening) " Keep your hand on your half-penny!"

I am proud owner of a mummy tummy, even when I lost loads of weight it still hung sadly over the top of my knickers.

NorbertDentressangle · 22/05/2010 19:53

I actually know of a little girl called Tuppence (and no, its not her nickname, its her real name)

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/05/2010 20:02

My entire midriff is a disgrace but you'd have to hold a gun to my head before I would call it a "mummy tummy".

biddysmama · 22/05/2010 20:07

ds calls mine my belly bum

dinkystinky · 22/05/2010 20:13

I have a mummy tummy too - and work out tonnes.

Prefer the term mummy tummy to mummy pouch which is what DS1 insists on referring to it as....

Coderooo · 22/05/2010 20:13

oh GOD that really made me heave

I have a mummy tummy. 3 pregnancies and c-sections have resulted in a horrible overhang despite me being slimmer than I was pre-DCs.

Have dieted and exercised hugely to get rid of it without success (tho toned up everywhere else and did lose weight). Went to see GP who took one look and said the only option is surgery for your tummy and no amount of exercise would get rid of it

Cleggover · 22/05/2010 20:23

Yuck to mummy pouch!

Yes my great granny used to say 'keep your hand on your half penny' too, but would say it every single time I saw her from the age of about 5 onwards and she'd pronounce it 'hay'pny'

Cleggover · 22/05/2010 20:24

seeing as I do have a mummy tummy I clearly failed to heed my great grandmother's very good advice
