/ ungrateful to be mildly annoyed by my MIL insisting on accompanying me to purchase nursery furniture just so she can get her clubcard points?

esp when my own parents (of similar financial standing) have contributed far more without attaching conditions... 34 weeks and possibly just hormonal...

My mum 'makes' me collect homebase points for her when I go as I don't have a card and can't be arsed to get one. I really honestly can't see the issue, especially since your MIL is paying. I can understand not wanting to maybe pick your furniture with your MIL if you have issues (I can't stand mine) but you cannot expect then for her to pay.

KnickKnack · 20/05/2010 19:49

you're busting with unreasonableness

BattyKoda · 20/05/2010 19:49

Err... YABU

How bizarre

paisleyleaf · 20/05/2010 19:50

You want her to buy the stuff for you without coming with you?
How were you thinking you'd want to do it? - borrow her debit card?

You could buy your own furniture if this is all too inconvenient for you.

clam · 20/05/2010 19:51

I don't think it's overstating the point to say that this is possibly THE most unreasonable post I've read in a long time!

You did ask!

warthog · 20/05/2010 19:53

eh?

SHE'S buying it and you think SIBU because she wants the club points????

i despair. i really do.

CaptainUnderpants · 20/05/2010 20:06

YABU - dont let her come with you and then you can struggle yourself getting furniture in the car .

Asking for clubcard points - attaching conditions ? oh grow up please .

jeee · 20/05/2010 20:07

In the OP's defence, she did say she was 'mildly annoyed', which makes her marginally less unreasonable than if she was 'absolutely fuming'

brightyoungthing · 20/05/2010 20:09

What exactly is the problem?? I don't understand it unless you both have issues?

Seems a very strange attitude to me

CaptainUnderpants · 20/05/2010 20:09

Well she still is BU to be 'mildly annoyed'

CaptainUnderpants · 20/05/2010 20:11

Probably just hormonal (as OP said) in which case all can be forgiven
