to tell the GP what I want; rather than asking her what can she do?

There is tonnes of back story to this

But basically DD has gone blind (12 weeks ago) & they won't give her a MRI/CT Scans, do a neural net (whatever that is) or any blood tests

A behavioural ophthalmologist has faxed the GP to arrange these tests; the GP won't

So do I go in telling them what I want or is there a better way?

I rarely (if ever) do AIBU - so be gentle with me; I really am at the end of my patience

Hi

Really sorry your daughter (and you) are going through this.

Write to your MP and go to the press- this can only help - nothing like some pressure to get the GP to see just how crass their behaviour has been.

Best of luck xxx

I got in from my first CAF meeting & there waiting for me was an appointment for DD at the hospital I don't like to see the man that was condescending to me tomorrow at 2:30

I must be calm, I must be calm

Katy - I'm so sorry it took so long to reply but I have just emailed you with some info from my cousin. I'll read the thread and see where you are.

Katymac · 25/05/2010 19:55

No problem tribpot - I have bombarded you with emails since I got yours

Katy - sent on to cousin with accompanying Facebook note so she knows right away if somehow they weren't received.

Katy is this the guy who is so sure of his diagnosis without doing the tests?

Katymac · 25/05/2010 21:51

Yep - at least he is seeing us a week earlier

Calm.....channelling calm....

I know those condescending consultant types came be so hard to deal with. CAn you take a deep breath and ask him to explain how he can be so sure without the MRI/CT that there is no phsyical cause. Tell him that you and dd need the reasssurance of these tests so that you know for certain what the cause is.

Lots of deep breaths, will be thinking of you

Katymac · 26/05/2010 07:43

Thanks - still trying to channel calm

I noticed you mentioned a CAF meeting- how are the members of the group going to help your daughter with this? Is there a lead professional who can assist you and can help you not be seen as the stroppy mother ( not saying that you are, but often it's how professionals manage to ignore concerns)?

Katymac · 26/05/2010 08:45

I don't know

I told her the appointment had been brought forward

There was nothing yesterday about supporting me
