Isaidhehoney, I aim to please.

Brilliant Isaid

You get a letter from your donkey 6 months into the adoption and photos. Also it's cheaper than I thought.

i have somewhere to put it ,my friend says i can put it in her field ,bit concerned about the noise thing though as her neighbours got a noise abatement order against her cockerel ,so he had to go ! Which i thought was a bit off as we are right in the middle of the countryside with cows and sheep making a racket 24/7. Just got to work out how i would get it back from auction .I already sponser a donkey .Its the ears ,that do it for me . Have to admit to being a bit worried that it would outlive me

When's the auction?

Could you afford to keep it without compromising anything else? Like the food shopping...?

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 19/05/2010 07:55

Fia, you mean you can get a donkey that can write? That's brilliant.

FiaGrace · 19/05/2010 11:33

tortoise for £16 a year I should hope so

Fluffyone · 19/05/2010 12:26

Bumpsoon, you do know you need more than a field don't you? A donkey must have a shelter, they must be able to get in out of the rain. And I refer to all the other things I said on the first page...
Also, donkeys are sociable animals, just like horses, ideally they shouldn't be kept alone.
Why don't you contact the Donkey Sanctuary before you do anything else and make sure you know exactly what you are letting yourself in for? drupal.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/

NOOOO don;t do it!!! I have a horse and much as I love her and I have had her 15 years I am stony broke in debt becuase of her!! Vets bills, insurance, farrier, livery, extra hay and feed in winter, wormers. Hate to admit it but she was a mistake buy!!

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 19/05/2010 13:18

For that price I agree, Fia. I hope the money pays for a good Private Donkey School education. Don't want it mixing with the donkey riffraff. Mules, the lot of ém.

When I saw the thread title my first thought was "How much chorizo can one family eat?"

DecorHate · 19/05/2010 13:28

Apparently Donkey Sanctuaries get a huge amount in the way of donations - far more than they need to look after the donkeys they rescue. I can imagine lots of people leaving them money in their wills... we regularly visit one and you can hardly take a step without falling over a sponsored bench in memory of someone or other!

Isaidheyhoney · 19/05/2010 15:33

God, yes, tortoise, I want my donkey to go to Oxbridge. I assume that's all taken care of.

pedrothellama · 19/05/2010 16:34

If it the ears that you love Bumpsoon can't you just stick a pair of donkey shaped ears on a cat or hamster?

It will save you pounds!

SimonCowellIsSatan · 19/05/2010 16:46

I think it would be unreasonable for you NOT to!
