going on this bio he doesn't seem too bad, at least not compared to the other 3 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Miliband

I don't prefer Milliband over a toad that dwells under a rock.

He is slimy and utterly utterly untrustworthy.

Clayhead · 10/05/2010 19:11

Can't stand him...for purely unscientific reasons.

He makes me itch.

thinker · 10/05/2010 19:16

I like him, think he would be a challenge for Cameron.

queribus · 10/05/2010 19:19

He's better than Ed Balls (but it's a close-run thing).

Chewing my own leg off is preferable to watching Ed Balls (and his DW) on TV.

God, the choices are meagre, aren't they! Ken Livingstone, anyone ... ?

StrictlyTory · 10/05/2010 19:21

There is something about the way he hideously undermined the Gord but without the guts to actually challenge him outright which made me sick.

He knew Labour would lose so he didn't want to be a William Hague and waste his chance on a time when they were very unpopular. He will only think of himself, make no mistake.

beanlet · 10/05/2010 20:36

I'm a fan :-) Something sweet about the fact that his hair looks like he's got Dulux undercoat in it.

TheCrackFox · 10/05/2010 20:40

He gives me the creeps.

No not keen - I am labour - but of the 4 prefer Nick

AndieWalsh · 10/05/2010 20:49

I'd prefer him to Nice Ham-eron or Clegg the No Mark.

He is fiercely bright, comes from good socialist stock and his overall politics are vastly preferable to Conservatism

However, I say let ham and 'no clue how to run a country' Clegg and Tory Boy get together and make a complete hash of it...then let's vote Labour in with a new leader in the autumn.

I like GB more now than I ever did, btw. He has endured the pathetic Sun headlines and the geenral misdirected bile quite gracefully, in my opinion.

longfingernailspaintedblue · 10/05/2010 22:41

He sort-of-but-not-really tried to get rid of Gordon Brown so many times.

His friend James Purnell had the guts to go public and be honest.

Whatever party the PM is from, I don't want them to be a snivelling weasel.

Whatever else you say about Thatcher and Blair, no-one can deny that they had real guts. Major had a depth of quiet conviction in him. Even Brown, for all his other character flaws, certainly showed tremendous resilience.

David Miliband is a coward. He might be a useful lieutenant, but he would be utterly useless as a leader.

And that has nothing to do with his politics.

DavidHameron · 10/05/2010 22:46

Alan Johnson. Or Harman.

Neither will be supported by party though.

MollieO · 10/05/2010 22:47

Noooo. He is a player but unfortunately without the intellect. His brother, Ed, is the smart one.

MollieO · 10/05/2010 22:48

HH on Newsnight said she won't be running for leader. At least some good news tonight .

hogshead · 10/05/2010 22:49

I prefer Alan Johnson myself

zippy539 · 10/05/2010 23:02

Arg - dunno that I trust any of that lot. Just wrote a letter to Gord saying how sorry I am that he's resigned - I'm in a minority of one but I really think Brown was one of the good guys.

noddyholder · 10/05/2010 23:06

Prefer Ed

gaelicsheep · 10/05/2010 23:08

I couldn't take seriously a PM who looks about 12.

MollieO · 10/05/2010 23:09

That's because he is 12 .

The fact that he was once photographed with a banana shouldn't bar him from high office.

The fact that he is a gutless invertebrate poltroon is more than enough to do that.

Ed Milliband=Victor Quarternmaine

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/05/2010 23:34

No no he is awful.

What are the options though, seriously?

Millibands A or B
Balls
Johnson
Cooper?

Who else?

The problem Labour have is too many Lords in the Cabinet (Adonis, Mandleson), which for a party which is now trying to position itself as progressive and in favour of electoral reform is laughable.
