It seems that every reaction has to be writ large. Not only do people describe quite ordinary things as 'stunning' and 'brilliant, but the negative reaction is similarly extreme. People don't say 'tsk', roll their eyes and move on, pondering on the irritations of modern life. They get very cross, write to the papers and feel outraged. And possibly demand compensation.

I don't. I think I am a dinosaur.
How do I develop my outrage? Does it use a specific part of the brain. Would eating fish help? Am I too old to learn?

I am truely disgusted and shocked that you could say that. Myself and my family will be traumatised for life.

Better?

piprabbit · 06/05/2010 14:24

I am horrified at the empty coffee mug crisis. What is being done to address this issue and protect innocent MNers from experiencing the trauma of an empty mug?

EdgarAllenPoll · 06/05/2010 14:24

i don't have any biscuits either...

'double whammy slams Poll household'

EdgarAllenPoll · 06/05/2010 14:25

perhaps we could set up a 'beverage-deprivation support group' Pip?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:26

Oh DON'T develop it Orm.....

I, like you don't get outraged. I am mildly that there isn't a frown emoticon because I just don't get

Everything is a crisis/nightmare/disaster these days. When most of it can be sorted with a nice cuppa and maybe an exhalation of 'whoops-a-daisy'.

Disgruntled?

piprabbit · 06/05/2010 14:26

Where do our elected leaders stand on this? That's what I want to know. I pay my taxes and the least I deserve is coffee and biscuits.

Can we start a campaign to bring Edgar's plight to the attention of the nation?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:28

Oh Edgar will there be cognitive disgruntled behavioural therapy?

I have to go downstairs to make myself another cuppa

SecretPollingBooth · 06/05/2010 14:29

pip, please don't forget the marginalised coffee drinkers
we have rights too yknow
"the farther you take my rights away, the faster i will run"
never has a lyric quote been so apt

AbsOfCroissant · 06/05/2010 14:30

I think there should be some kind of concert to raise awareness of the fact that EDGAR HAS NO TEA

Is Bono available?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:30

there-there Secret... have a coffee substitute and take some quiet life...

SecretPollingBooth · 06/05/2010 14:30

Dunk-Aid

AbsOfCroissant · 06/05/2010 14:33

"fill the teapot, make the world a better place, for you and for me, and the entire human race ........... EDGAR dramatic pause] ALLEN POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL currently has no tea, make tea for everyone, for you and for meeeeeeeeeee"

ABatInBunkFive · 06/05/2010 14:35

I am outraged is there not a thought for us poor marginalised non tea and coffee drinkers?!?

All this talk of tea and coffee is frankly shoving the issue down peoples throats. Disgusting!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:36

But......

what about the tea-lakes in china that arebeing left to evaporate whilst Edgar is without the most basic of human rights.

I had a dream people....I had a dream that we could all have tea, milky or builders brews... but TEA for ALL.... it's the future and the future's...errr tea coloured!

AbsOfCroissant · 06/05/2010 14:37

I am outraged by this focus on tea (that I may have been involved with).

I have just had to go AND GET MY OWN COFFEE.

This, is the TRUE tragedy of our times.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:37

.....are we united people?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/05/2010 14:38

And who will play at the concert?

Carlos Santeana? The Tea Degrees?

GinSlinger · 06/05/2010 14:43

I am furious that no one has even thought to mention cake. Outraged and horrified even.

MarkOatensHankyPanky · 06/05/2010 14:46

I noticed piprabbit's funding crisis meant she couldn't afford biccies, but she had enough money for wine.

Disgraceful!
I am disgusted and appalled.

[quickly forgets tea crisis]

BISCUIT CRISIS! I am APPALLED that in the country of the Queen, people are going this afternoon without biscuits. And cake. Mostly cake though. I do not care particularly for biscuits.
