I ask this because dh got all huffy last night when I asked him to close the door of our en suite when he's using the loo - and pulled a nasty face when I explained that leaving it open makes it feel like he's weeing in the same room as me.

We do use the loo in front of eachother, but only if we both happen to be in the bathroom together - I don't want to see and hear him weeing when I am cuddled up in bed reading a book.

we have no door at all on our en suite. I have always thought it odd. There is a general lack of doors in this house actually.

Oh, I love my en-suite, does that make me strange? The toilet is far away from the bed though. DH has been TAUGHT to close the door

I do like my en suite, though Pikelit is right about the whole chamber pot thing. But my en suite is a bathroom that the boys aren't allowed to use, and though dh is allowed to use it, he is, at least, somewhat better trained than the boys.

Glad to hear people saying they don't like ensuites, as I always feel slightly deprived that I haven't got one. They always look lovely in show houses - but we don't really need one. The dog always comes to the toilet with me. Is that odd?

I love my ensuite so easy in the night, so easy to get to and puke my guts up when preggers. VALHALA - pmsl - SO RIGHT.
