Does anybody know the procedure/law about returning of a mobile phone?

Yesterday I purchased a mobile phone and its abysmal, this one it locks or crashes half way into a conversation, the screen freezes, their is no user manual, and it is NOT a user friendly phone, I just want to text and make phone calls but even this is too complicated for this phone.

I need a phone in case of emergencies with both ds's and dh, who all have medical cards that need that may need emergency treatment, but even dialling 999 is a degree level on its own!

It is not sealed and the phone is less that 24 hours old, does anybody know what my rights are concerning the return of the phone?

Probably depends where you bought it from tbh. Reputable store prob ok to return. Sounds like it is not fit for purpose.

If its a new contract you can take it back under their "cooling off period" it varies from 7-21 days.

They will make a fuss I would imagine. Never keen to return phones.

If they spout any nonsense tell them you will be back in 24 hours with trading standards. That usually works.

Thankyou for all your response, I took it back to Vodafone and they exchanged it with not a question asked, so I am a happy bunny x
