To make train shaped sandwiches for littlemad?

Madascheese · 04/05/2010 17:30

I've made him a great big plate of train shaped sandwiches (using the train shaped cutter, not all hand finished trimmed and dyed different colours, that now that would be going a BIT far)

But he is such a darling boy and has been an utter star while he's been poorly so I just wanted to spoil him a bit.

Will the mean that some future Mnetter will be posting about the damage her mad MIL did the day she fed DH train shaped sandwiches?

I wonder if I should get out more...

BexieID · 04/05/2010 17:46

I've done it with toast before. Anything to entice our little darlings to eat!

mollymax · 04/05/2010 17:47

I have been known to make all 3 of my children thier names in letters cut out of bread.... now that is OTT

Madascheese · 04/05/2010 17:56

Spatch - dp can cut freehand shapes, he did the whale from snail and the whale yesterday - methinks that is too much attention to detail.

BexieID, I'm planning to do it with cheese on toast for me when he's abed!

Molly - above and beyond the call of duty - I salute you

if you're feeling flush: www.lakeland.co.uk/cookie+cutters?src=ggbak&sq=cookie%20cutters

or amazon:

I think the metal ones are better than plastic and get them nice and big for ansdwiches.

Hope it helps

I cut everything up into shapes and have done for years (DD is 8). She'll eat anything if it's heart/star/flower shaped

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 04/05/2010 18:08

I want the lakeland dinosaur cutter. but settle for flowers and aeroplanes.

Madascheese · 04/05/2010 18:10

I love that cutter, sadly littlemad won't have anything to do with dinosaurs - I may have to buy it for my own use only

The plastic cutters usually used with Playdough are also excellent

icecoldcatsbum · 04/05/2010 19:16

Thank you Madascheese and Jack I'll take a look at those suggestions!
