No, its not hard..but have you asked him? Is this a common thing and do you ask him each time? Have you sat down and said to him, specifically, that it really gets on your tits and can he areally make an effort in the future??

jazal · 02/05/2010 14:32

no, but isn't that just common sense? come on, you tell your 5-year old but not a grown man. arrghhh! sorry, just having a moan much better now

Trouble with common sense is that's it's not very common.

Furball · 02/05/2010 15:01

Mine claims he's always unsure whether it's clean or dirty already in there, so leaves them on the side 'just in case'

jazal · 02/05/2010 15:23

ha ha. guess it is a little difficult to tell unless you have superman vision.

I dont like others putting dishes in the dishwasher as they dont put them in the right way. I like to do it myself

theagedparent · 02/05/2010 17:11

My dh won't put the dishes in the dishwasher as he worries it will wear the door out if he opens it too often.

OP - I'm doing well if he remembers to move dirty dishes away from wherever he ate off them.

Furball - I do shriek like the damned if any one puts dirty dishes on top of clean in the dw.

jazal · 03/05/2010 22:22

lol. perhaps we should start a new thread with the title "Contest : Lamest excuse for not loading the dishwasher"

OP posts:
ILovePlayingDarts · 03/05/2010 22:26

Weirdly, my dp almost sees it as a bit of a competition on how to best load a dishwasher. I can safely say he knows very well how to do it and frequently does!!!!!

marenmj · 03/05/2010 23:00

lol, my DH will notice my huffing whilst loading the dishes up and come 'help' which I put in quotes as he just loads some dishes in the washer, then leaves all the handwash and a grubby sink for the washing fairy to do!

not that I should be surprised, he does the same when left to his own devices!

Bonsoir · 03/05/2010 23:04

My DP is Vice-President, Dishwasher Loading in our household. We all defer to his superior loading skills; he has given my mother specialist tuition on dishwasher loading and earned her, and my father's, eternal gratitude for reducing their hand washing up burden.

However, his leg is currently in plaster, which precludes all domestic chores

marenmj · 03/05/2010 23:09

lol, I love it, Bonsoir. Do you think if I gave my DH a title, like Vide-President, I could same him into doing a better job? Perhaps create my own, household Daily Mail of handwringing about how the family is going to crap because of our Vice-President?

Bonsoir · 03/05/2010 23:11

Hmm. DP isn't VP of much other else, domestically, and I'm not sure that giving him an unearned title would help.

I defer to his (far) superior driving skills constantly, but that's about it...

EmilyStrange · 03/05/2010 23:12

I asked my dcs to draw mine a map in case he had forgotten where the dishwasher was located. perhaps I should load its whereabouts onto the satnav complete with instructions. "Turn right, go straight, now open the door and put the dishes in, congratulations you have reached your destination."

Bonsoir · 03/05/2010 23:13

Oh I've been very unfair. He is also Vice-President, Nespresso Capsule Stock Management and Nespresso Machine Maintenance.

jazal · 03/05/2010 23:14

nice one bonsoir. VP of dishwasher loading
