going out with bil and sil, its my burpday on sunday and i dont want tobe hung over on sunday - anyway we arranged that we would go out tonight to get pissed and the local pub has a dj on and some friends of sils will be there to celebrate a birthday too - and i thought oooh this will all be jolly wont be stuck with dh all night.

bil is a mechanican works bloody hard as hard stuff all day anyway he phones at 5pm to say he booked dh's car in for mot at 7am and so we wontgo out tonight we will go out tomorror.

anyway - i gets the arse on, dh phones bil and says its dws burpday bash the pub has a dj ( coincidence i didn;t pay for it) bla de bla -and bil says ok ok.

then about an hour ago sil rings up and says @ bil says hewont drink tonight becuase car...mot...morning"

am i being unreasonable to

  1. wonder what the need for the last phone call was about
  2. nearly cry 3)want to punch him in the manjo

its a fucking disaster before we get there - ive opened the voddy already

YANBU. If he doesn't want to drink then he doesn't need to phone you and have you informed!

Anyway, I reckon give it 5 mins down there and he will be drinking anyway

Have a great evening, sure it will be fine

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 30/04/2010 19:56

No need for sil to ring and say that. Sounds like they are trying to make you feel guilty. Go out and have a good time.

YANBU at all just for use of the word 'manjo'

MudandRoses · 30/04/2010 19:57

ach don't worry, he doesn't have to drink for you to have a good time, does he? You woon't even notice once the vodka kicks in

MmeLindt · 30/04/2010 19:59

Why does the car need to go in at 7?

tuarag · 30/04/2010 20:07

Please excuse my ignorance here, but what exactly is a 'Burp Day'? I too hope you have a good time. However, perhaps i'm just a party poop, but it often puzzles me why people feel that in order to enjoy ones self, one has to get pissed.

mylovelymonster · 30/04/2010 20:23

The term 'Burp Day' is a form of acknowledging some sort of anniversary of one's birth - a reference used by women 'of a certain age' for whom the normal and generally used term of reference has become simply unbearable

Tiredmumno1 · 30/04/2010 20:38
