Friend has had a family emergency and child is 8 months and only began to wean a month ago.

Now me and ds have had ours and I've cleaned the kitchen down, and I dont have freezer food veg (fresh but made for ds for the week) as dh doing it tonight for us. and I really dont want to start peeling, as it means I will do the lot.

So I have in the fridge, avocado and banana and some natural yogurt. I was going to give this, as I dont want to mess my kitchen or am I just being lazy arse.

Sounds yummy! I would feed my 9 month old that for lunch.

Salbysea · 29/04/2010 14:36

sounds fine to me, as long as there's no dairy issues

BornToFolk · 29/04/2010 14:37

Sounds fine for an 8 month old, IMHO. You could always do a bit of toast too, if that all got wolfed down.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 29/04/2010 14:38

Do the avocado with the banana and then the yogurt for pudding. And check the dairy issue.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 29/04/2010 14:39

If you have some food already prepared for your baby why can't you defrost a bit for this other baby? And what do you mean, you have had yours? Are you not eating again today?

kif · 29/04/2010 14:40

Ach - it's fine - yah know it is.

Are you sure the kids won't come with a lunchbox though? In these circs (if I were the Mum) I'd dash through the corner shop to get the kids something familiar to eat (e.g. favourite flavour of jar food).

LittleMrsHappy · 29/04/2010 14:41

No dairy issues and the natural yogurt is soya.

Thankyou, shes waking up soon x x

She said she DOESN'T have food in the freezer for the baby as her husband is making it tonight.

And it sounds fine to me. TBH at 8mo I'd give scrambled egg and baked beans but this depends if you know his allergy status.

Salbysea · 29/04/2010 14:43

I personally would not give a baby soya, but if the parents give it then go ahead

LittleMrsHappy · 29/04/2010 14:44

shes been asleep since 11.30am, and is waking up soon, so she has had no lunch.

Their was no time to dash to shops, her older child has knocked himself unconscious at school, so really had to go. She only lives in the next street, and no shops nearby to dash too.

Thankyou x x x

"(fresh but made for ds for the week)"

I was asking why she couldn't use ^ that food.

Agingmumoftwins · 29/04/2010 14:46

Sounds lovely, I'd give the banana in chunks so there's something for the baby to chew on. I make sure my DTs have something non-mushy at each meal, either chunks of fruit/veg, toast, rice cakes etc.

LittleMrsHappy · 29/04/2010 14:48

"(fresh but made for ds for the week)"

As its not pre-packed frozen veg.

She's saying they normally make freezer food from fresh, for their DS, for the week, but right now there is none as it has all been eaten and her DH is doing more tonight.

I think.

LittleMrsHappy · 29/04/2010 14:49

Thankyou, shes awake now, going to give her it with some buttered toast x
