Dd1 and I were talking about the election tonight. I asked her who she would vote for if she could (she is 12) and she said 'Well I've only lived under a Labour government so I think before I decided I'd want to find out what the other parties had done when they were in government' This seems very wise to me and I'm just very proud of her and the good head she has on her shoulders.

AIBU to be bursting with pride in my lovely, clever, thoughtful dd?

no, you're not remotely being unreasonable - and you know it, she sounds lovely

preen away, tis well deserved!

Madascheese · 27/04/2010 19:41

YANBU

JaneS · 27/04/2010 19:42

Good for her! Indeed, wise head on young shoulders.

BusyMissIzzy · 27/04/2010 19:42

A very sensible answer, YANBU to be proud. Shame she's too young to vote, sounds like she's got a better grasp of things than a lot of adults!

Hulababy · 27/04/2010 19:42

Good on here.

I would like to see more adults take ont hat stance - actually look and read about all the different parties/options before voting each time.

Dinkytinky · 27/04/2010 19:52

Aw that's so bright and sweet, she sounds like an absolute credi to you!

Northernlurker · 27/04/2010 20:15

Thanks all - she is lovely (though she has her moments of being otherwise too of course)

Wow! That's so mature.. the vote is wasted on so many over 18s!

sleepingsowell · 27/04/2010 20:46

You should be proud. That's way more thinking than I fear 80% of the adult electorate will give it. Most people just seem to blindly go on what the Sun or the Mail are telling them

Good for her!
