he had these massive holes in them, held open by a ring of steel the size of a £2 coin

what the fuck? Is this a new "thing"? it's repulsive!

It's just something I've always been interested in, it's hard to explain, I guess to me it's the same as why do people have their ear pierced, why do people get their nose pierced, why do people like certain cars or bags or shoes......just lifestyle preferences.

I have 10mm wide tunnel, so not that big, and if stretched in the correct manner, they will shrink back again to close to original size.

If I need to, I wear one of THESE to make it more discreet.

They have minimal damage risk if done correctly, like most things.

Mine are clean and hygienic and certainly don't smell!

And also, KerryMumbles link, photo number 3, is John Lynch, I've met him and he's a really lovely and sweet man.

I respect that it's not to everyones taste by all means, but comments such as

"All so cheap and common and rough.
Attention seeking"

....are just unreasonable

FioFio - www... yes, that would be cute! Maybe I'll have them done after all!

persephonesnape · 27/04/2010 15:30

I have 16mm tunnels in each ear, various tattoos, work full time in a very responsible position, bring up three children single handed who are all doing extremely well at school, are courteous, respectful and helpful, pay my taxes!

so i look different. I don't like fake tan, fake nails, bleached hair or suits/ties, but I'm certainly not intolerant or common enough to say so in public.

oh, wait...

my young bil has them.they're called flesh tunnels..he is covered in tats and has all manner of things (shudder) pierced.he used to have two things screwed into his neck so he looked like frankenstein..eek.

it kinda suits him though.made me laugh at my wedding,my gran just kept looking at him and shaking her head!

he's been picked to go on that game show with noel edmonds..the one with the boxes?!can't think of the name.
i reckon that it's probably the way he looked that got him through the auditions..apparantly he's having a red phone tattooed on his leg for the show

in conlusion...i think they look kinda cool on the right person!

missmoopy · 27/04/2010 16:29

Not a fan of huge flesh tunnels, but smaller ones llok good. Its personal choice and not worth vomiting about!

I think I have a psychological problem with large holes - that's my problem not that of the person with the mtilation piercing. I reckon up to about 10mm is ok but beyond that I gag a bit. Wouldn't presume to judge a person by it, though! I'd rather be on a plane next to someone with a huge hole in their ear than BO!

flesh tunnels??

Sounds like some horrendous infection or parasite.

Mumcentreplus · 27/04/2010 20:24

GetOrfMoiLand that just does not sound feasible (sp) at all!!..kind of like me trying to 'train' my breasts to be more 'perky'.....some things just cannot be reversed
