DS (11mo) has a number of disabilites. He has an army of carers and community support to whom we will be forever grateful.

However, within the same hospital one of the teams is dreadful. No phone calls, no appointments when stated, no contact from DSs liason nurse when we're told she'll call. Just no support at all compared to other departments.

We never get post op or post appointment letters/updates/diognosis and nor do the rest of his teams (they call to ask me or I call them) but the other departments/doctors send these out and within a few days of his appointment/procedure.

AIBU to wish we got the same service from this department that we get elsewhere? Just to keep all of his teams in the loop if nothing else!

YANBU, but you need to do something about it. Complain to the hospital administration in writing. And keep doing so until the situation is resolved.

Thanks Where.... good idea.

Without making it a personal attack on one individual team memeber, I have already brought certain issues to light. It would appear that this person is the weak link in the chain of communication!

I've decided to side step this person and go direct to the decision makers in the future but that's not fool proof as they rely on this person to contact us!

It adds to my workload, making sure all of his team know what is going on and I think that's annoying me.

check out NHS choices website if you feel so inclined you can leave a public comment.

you may find the hospital's patient liasion advice service (PALS)helpful
they usually have posters/leaflets around with contact details and support on offer

yanbu and good luck
