To buy DD shoes from Next rather than Clarks?

DD is a 18 months and a size three which she is just about to grow out of. She isnt walking on her own yet but is properly cruising and walks with someone holding her. She hasnt got wide feet (I had her measured at Clarks for her first shoes) so she will fit in a 4 from Next. Will normal shoes be okay for a cruising toddler or should I go back to Clarks for another pair of pre-walkers?

I wouldn't get shoes at all for a toddler that isn't walking. There is no need. Once she is walking then it's up to you. I do both, I get DD some posh shoes from Clarks and a pair of runarounds from Next.

Totally agree with RockBird.

I get most of my kids shoes from next especially sandles and trainers as I find they last and don't cost the earth.
as for wether she needs shoes that up to you.

She needs shoes as otherwise she pulls off her socks constantly

I only get Clarks when they go to school as they seem to last lnoger/ not grow out of them as quickly. At that age DD wanted to spend all her time in wellies and not shoes. You can get prewalkers in Next as well.

YABU she doesn't need ANY shoes until she is confidently walking on her own, outside. Her feet are still so soft and poorly fitting shoes will do untold damage. Why do you need her to have proper shoes? I used to put DD, who also didnt walk until she was nearly two, into little leather slipper things called Shu Shus, they were about £16 and very cute - just soft leather, no rigidity at all.

I still have my DDs feet measured at clarks, although i feel ripped off, i have stood in next with shoes in my hands and just haven't been able to bring myself to put them on DDs feet - they just seem so hard and unflexible.

Agree with all the other posters - shu shus or inchblues or the like.

And once she does start walking properly I would get her properly fitted until she is a properly walking - not until she's at least 24 months if not older.

I know how tricky it is with a late walker but I really don't think buying them 'proper' shoes is a great idea
