I am a full time student, and my uni is on a term holiday, so I've been off since the end of March. DCs are 3 (almost 4) and 2.7. They have been off for their Easter hols since April 1st (they go to playgroup every morning from 9-12), so I've been home with them full time these last two weeks. We have baked/cooked, gone to parks, granny's for visits, and a few other things, and I've really enjoyed my time with them, relaxing.
They were supposed to go back to playgroup yesterday, but they were sent home; mouse droppings were found in the hall, and Ofsted shut them down until Monday, so they've had two bonus days off.
That all said...I just wanted to CRY when school was cancelled. It's been fun, but I am bored absolutely rigid now, and just want to get back to reading for uni and doing my own thing in the mornings. My DCs are still in their pyjamas, mainly because I just can't be bothered to get them dressed, and attempt to find SOMETHING ELSE for us to bloody do.
I am being completely and totally unreasonable...and pretty selfish to boot...I'm just feeling a bit pathetic now...and I don't have any friends around to moan to!!!!
Thank you...as I write this, DCs are having a blast making forts out of all the couch cushions...I really have nothing to complain about, do I??

I bet they're having fun with their impromptu PJ day. Go into another room and scream at the walls, then leave them to it and get on with your reading

Are you joking? Of course this is cause for complaint! It is high-energy work, being with children full-time, and we pace ourselves according to what we think is the distance/time. It really buggers up your reserves if they suddenly have to stretch over a longer period

Let them play forts and run around half-dressed, as they are probably enjoying it!

Thanks for the validation, Winged...and both for the advice to let them be...I've been feeling guilty about it(of course!). I'm just not used to this much time off all together, tbh, I think that's the issue. I forgot how tiring being with children all day is!

Ah, yes, kitcat1977, and the reading work that needs to be done! Oops, forgot to mention that - good thing you did!
